It seems we are moving to a time when the states or provinces or whatever would like more say than the country. Do you think we will evolve to an EU like system or some other new system over the course of time, making the concept of countries or federal/central “rule” obsolete and instead moving to a more alliance between these localised states/provinces a system?

I remember after the school shooting, uvalde county overwhelmingly voted for Abbot and Trump, Cruz, and every crooked judge and sheriff who did nothing while their children died. At a certain point sympathy evaporated for a community that is working against its own interests, and against the lives of their own kids. This is how I feel about Texas in particular among all the states, i just have no more empathy to spare for Texas.

I’d like to see a law in place that says if a congressman votes against aid for another state during a disaster, then they must resign immediately after requesting aid for their own state during a disaster.

Specifically? Because federal coordination helps manage natural disasters (like wildfires) and centralize big programs life Medicare/SS and secures national defense (which California profits from handsomely).
