As a System Admin, I totally feel this. I fucking hate vendors and their bullshit marketing. In generally during the times that I have to deal, I will usually hear them out. But if the rep is annoying I will start the Q&A with questions that are designed to destroy their presentations or expose how little they know about their products. Good sales reps know how to react but bad ones just dig it in deeper and it becomes a show.
I am 50 and I can tell you with absolute certainty, 17 year olds are like children. I work next to a collage campus and even 21 year olds are like children. My niece just turned 27 and she is just in the last couple years actually acting like an adult. I hope your dad has a great time but I doubt it will last unless she really is just a gold digger, looking for a sugar daddy.

It depends on the filament you use but if you are using brass nozzles, best to get use to replacing them periodicly. Just look at thingaverse or the prusa site for nozzle assessories and look at how people make cases for multiples sizes and numbers of nozzles. IDK what kind of quality that FlashForge has but its pretty typical to wear out the nozzle (just maybe not as fast as you are experiencing)
but you might be having problems with the preloading or the tension on the filament feeding gear. IDK the method that your printer uses but I had similar problems with my PRUSA until I replaced the Hotend PTFE tube. Those will also wear out so get a few if your printer uses that feeding system

I think of many one-hit-wonders but the Spacehog song “In the Meantime” is what I will refer to here. I really liked it on the radio when it first dropped. Got the album and was not at all excited about the rest of the songs. Come time, they dropped a new album and of course I had to try again but it didn’t even have one song that I really cared for. I sat on the CD for a while and gave them a listen every so often, because that one song is sooo good! maybe I was just not giving the rest of the songs a chance. Yeah no. I listed to their 3rd album before buying it and was content to just listen to one of their songs. Its always in my mix and I love to hear it. But thats the only song of theirs that I like.
IDK but I don’t have kids or horses. Kids seem to be the easier choice because after a little time they take care of themselves. Horses can live for 20 or more years and you have to take care of them every fucking day (my sister has three, she also has 4 kids but their all adults now).
It really just comes down to if you want children or not. Don’t let the horse be an excuse.
it’s situation dependent for sure but I listen for junk jargon most of the time and then do root cause analysis like questions on it. like trying to find the answers to asking why to everything they say. why does it work like that? Does it support xyz? why? why… . Gotta do it right so your coworkers are in on it. there’s a uncomfortable laugh when you know you hit the mark.
