An adult foreign national battered a child and is surprised that they’re under threat of deportation…… Where’s the story here? The only victim is the kid.

From the article it sounds like just a push, which probably shouldn’t warrant any law enforcement, but if you are a guest in a country and shove someone, don’t be surprised when the host country wants you to go home.

Better not bump into this guy, he’d probably submit a tip to ICE just to feel safer.

More Arab and Latino Americans voted for Donald Trump than have ever voted for any Republican candidate before in US history. The Republican youth vote was higher in this past election than it ever has been before, the Democratic youth vote was lower in this pas election than it ever has been before. The Far Left told us they weren’t going to vote for “Genocide Joe”, and Democrat youth didn’t show up to vote.

By the way, also, some Russians (if not most of them) voted for Trump. They escaped fascist dictatorship only to make a fascist dictatorship “at home” (in the US).

People from (toxic) collectivistic cultures are mostly uneducated and they don’t realise what trauma/abuse did to them when they lived in their authoritarian home country, and they tend to be like that, I think.

There’s heavy propaganda and misinformation in the Hispanic community about illegal immigrants. They hate people from South America and they believe that asylum seekers are getting thousands of dollars a week in food and housing assistance as well as direct payments. My Mexican coworker was telling me he saw a guy bragging about it on YouTube around the time of the election. There was recently a viral post claiming you could get $750 if you turned in an illegal, which isn’t true.

I dunno what you’re upset about. You’re getting the genocide and immigration crackdowns you voted for even though your preferred candidate didn’t win.

You’re even copying Trump’s rhetoric here in blaming the left, who has almost zero representation in government, for all the problems you see in the government.

I’ve had this discussion plenty of times here on lemmy. They didn’t want genocide Joe, so they got turbo genocide Donnie. They somehow didn’t realize that “no genocide” wasn’t on the menu, even not voting was making a choice.

      Well, consequences haven’t waited long.

What if I told you, that your argument was doomed to fail, as the flaw with your reasoning was the same as the flaw with theirs, in that there was no genocide, by any formerly used definition of the word, what there is a war against an embedded Islamofascist terrorist army, after an invasion which saw 1500 Israelis rape and slaughtered, after 10 years of deadly missile fire and incursion, fully supported by the surrounding Arab populace. Now by your comment, I know you won’t admit that, but massive protest marches in every American city, and takeovers of University commons across the country, on network news every night for months, during the spring and summer of an Election year, calling the incumbent Democatic President running for re-election “Genocide Joe”, chanting “from the river to the sea” not only freaked out middle America (democrats and republicans in equal measure) but all of it, and not only suppressed the Democratic youth vote, but in fact all of it.

Yes, but she was just a legal resident, not a citizen. So straight to the concentration camp. Along with all the citizens. Oops.

18 year old girl, legal citizen, pushes her 12 year old brother. No injuries.

ICE takes her from Lynn, MA to Cumberland county, ME, and she’s under threat of deportation?

    Deportation to where??

This isn’t America. This is beyond alarming.

      … legal citizen, …

Legal status. Which I am sure they’re talking about revoking because she’s been “charged with a crime.”

That is the plan. Even for people who are in the US legally, just charge them with a crime, and that legal status can be pulled and they can be deported. Maybe even to Gitmo in the near future.

      ICE is Gestapo.

What does legal status mean exactly? Is that like a permanent resident or some kind of work residency? What legal status is common for a 18 year old? Just trying to understand what exactly is being revoked.

Could be a lot of things. Could be a tourist visa, student visa, H1B, green card, probably a mess of other things I’m not aware of. Some kind of “You’re not a citizen, but it’s legal for you to be in the United States” paperwork.

I’d expect that the 18 year old is probably attached to her parents’ status.
