Nice, ordered one of those switches!
Yeah, I like the smart switch/sensor + dumb bulb approach too.

Yes – should’ve described that aspect. The shape of the entryway means that none of the existing switches has a good view of all the area I’d like a motion sensor to trigger on. Otherwise that would be the way to go!
OK so yay disability rights, but makes me wonder how $50M compares to government bailout for airlines.
Those stock agreements, similar to options, this week are worth about $260 million, or less than 1 percent of the $37 billion the U.S. government gave 10 major passenger airlines last year to help pay their workers, according to a Washington Post analysis of Treasury Department data. Subsequent agreements taxpayers received as airlines got another $13 billion this year are, as of now, useless, although their value would rise if stock prices climb.
From the Washington Post. So, not much in comparison.
How are fire stations funded in Germany?
Seems cool!
Does it handle sharing a task list between people? Or syncing between multiple clients / handling concurrent edits?
I see the manual says keyboard commands are the main way to control it. Does it work in mobile?
Looks like you’re putting lots of work into it, thanks for sharing.
Norris Young, a passenger on the train, told NBC Philadelphia the train hit a “gigantic tree.” “There was a tree on the track, I don’t know if it fell on the track or if it was just laying on the track,” Young said.
So, train still on the track.
Do you know any climate tech companies with unions?
And then vote for Ranked Choice Voting (which may not be the ideal but is a paradigm shift improvement from First Past the Post).
Is there a self hosted OpenTelemetry consumer?
No mention of reparations as part of this apology.
Although the community of Angoon received a $90,000 settlement from the Department of the Interior in 1973, it has long sought a formal apology.
Mentioning that previous amount just highlights that they aren’t doing more / something significant.
I would count that, yes.
Avoiding awkward forced interactions like this is the primary reason I cut my own hair. Otherwise, would be fine contributing to that part of the economy.
The bear was killed, Mr DeSpain said.
Oh, bummer.
The defense called an expert witness on force who testified that six shocks with a Taser was not excessive when dealing with someone who will not follow orders.
Ray Nash, a former sheriff in Dorchester County, testified that the inmate’s violence against his father likely led Lemon to think the Taser was the only option to subdue him.
So, not for being violent or even disorderly or something. Got spikes in him and electrocuted 6 times for being stubborn.
The deputy who shocked the inmate on Lemon’s order pleaded guilty to a federal charge earlier this year and testified against the sheriff. He will be sentenced at a later date.
And the employee takes the fall for the manager.
I recently saw one which had foot-long stakes driven at an angle. I wonder if that would be secure enough. I didn’t consider wind as a major threat at the time.
It also had a big pocket on the front that said in big letters that it just always contain the manual — empty, obviously.
They often have mesh (not bouncy) sides, and even landing from 20’ on your neck on the inflated surface seems like it could be deadly. How awful.
And isn’t there an arrest warrant for him? Oh right:
Netanyahu’s visit comes two months after the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, announced he was seeking an arrest warrant for Netanyahu.
Right. From the article:
From the critically imperiled Big Pine partridge pea to the jumping prickly apple, any number of coastal species in the Florida Keys could be wiped out next in one of the places most vulnerable to sea level rise. And unlike the Key Largo cacti, which survives, if only barely, elsewhere, several of them are the last of their kind.
But this event still highlights another aspect of loss due to climate change, and it’s worth marking.
Eating local/seasonal reduces the need for long shelf life. Not always possible, but industrial agriculture definitely pushes us away from it and is something policy could help reverse.
Reminds me of the lack of plan for RBG.
Maybe I’ll give them a go for my next automation! Thanks for the recommendation.
I do have a hub — using HomeAssistant with AppDaemon.
