I grew up on 500-in-1 shareware discs as a real young kid, got into playing heaps of Runescape on mom’s laptop in late primary school, and when she eventually got me my own Pentium 4 PC I played the ever-loving shit outta the classic Source games and mods. Many nights were spent with my international pals playing Garry’s Mod or Zombie Master til the early winking of daylight met my dried, crusty eyes. Good times. Better times.
Never wanted kids. I’m barely able to look after myself without help, there’s no way I’ll be responsible enough to look after a kid. That and I’m too pessimistic about the state of the world right now and don’t want to bring somebody into a world that will be uninhabitable by the time they turn 30.
American in deep red territory, this is the first I’ve heard of it.
When those people want me dead it’s mere self defense.
Ah yes, the most oppressed gender. Gamers.
I get at minimum 10-20 scam calls a day. How I wish I were you.
That one episode where Stimpy births out a fart and has to raise it comes to mind.
When ya put it like that, it makes capitalism sound kinda like Roko’s Basilisk.
God damn terrified and suicidal, thankful I’ve got good friends to ground me.
Honestly with my social anxiety, self checkout works perfectly for me. I feel a hard to describe tension when being rung up by most folks that I don’t feel when ringing myself up, and if I’m just popping in for a few things I’d rather not stress myself out more than I need to.
If ya got good speakers, there’s a whole world of fantastic trippy albums that are fantastic to listen to if you want a good chatty/vibey/general low energy night. I can recommend a few albums of different genres and styles if ya like!
Bed bugs made us burn our furniture. In the end we still paid several hundred dollars for an exterminator cause they were that persistent.
It’s like Roko’s Basilisk playing out in real time, except instead of building a malignant computer out of fear it’s accelerating a fascist takeover.
Evidently, yes.
What a horrid perversion of the very human experience of art. Miyazaki would want nothing of this.
Athens Porchfest in Georgia is like that. It’s noon to 8 pm and it’s about 200 bands performing on over 100 front porches across multiple neighborhoods - for free.
Haven’t had it yet but I so gotta try out khachapuri from Georgia.
Composer here, I could grab quite a lot! There are multiple shops in a 2.5 hour drive-radius from me that sell used instruments and audio equipment for dirt cheap. I bagged a $700 audio interface for $100 - just a single hunge! I could probably start an Elephant 6-grade recording setup with a thousand.
