0·5 months ago 0·5 months ago- When I saw the hell in a cell reference I got a little excited. Then slightly sad

He said it’s perfect for school zones because he knows he doesn’t have to watch the Speedo and give that extra attention to watching for kids walking out. I have to agree with him, there is a school on my commute and the speed drops to 20mph. I let the car do that bit while I worry about little (or sometimes big) feet. - Would I trust that system to spot a child before I do? Not a chance.
- Worked with a guy once who instead of uploading his doctors note to the HR website, uploaded a recipe for chicken soup

Session time limit, throttle fraffic, restrict usage times etc. - Then you can sell a monthly VPN+ subscription and offer revisiting lifetime users 2 years free if they move to the new “better” service. - I’m not saying I agree with any of this, but it’s certainly not a new strategy. They’ve nothing to lose. Those who are pissed off will leave, you already have their money and those who want to stay will pay up. - The VPN company can have their cake and eat it
3·6 months ago 3·6 months ago- It was Plex that did the IP range ban because people were selling access to their boxes.
10·6 months ago 10·6 months ago- There are two types connection in this scenario - Direct - no additional cost to Plex, using the port forwarding instructions you mentioned. No limit on bandwidth - the best (and most common) option
- Relay - for whatever reason your client cannot reach the server (CGNAT / port forwarding not possible / firewall on client side etc), Plex will act like a man in the middle & limit the connection to 2mbit. (Yup, megaBIT).
 - I switched away from Plex last year because they wouldn’t let me connect with my box in Hetzner. I’m now using Emby, ironically I’m also paying for Emby’s monthly subscription. Not because I believe I need to, but because I want the developer to continue to work on it.
0·7 months ago 0·7 months ago- I just don’t connect the snoopy bastard to my network 😂
- I work for an MSP. I can assure you, those who believe they need excel to do their job are willing to die on that hill, and take the whole department with them
- Except for that time I took out the battery because it was swollen and took the screen off to help with cooling. At least I still have my K and M
- Copy paste is easy. You just tap on the, no wait you tap on the, fuck hold on. You tap, there we are, on the word and hold until it highlights. No wait hold on. Fuck. There we are. Ok now you tap on the highlighted word to copy, fuck wait Ah fuck it just type it again yourself
- I still come across DCs where time drift happens because of poorly configured VMs
0·9 months ago 0·9 months ago- In our company I’m friends with one of the lead devs. He once told me “no matter what way you look at it, excel is never the answer” lol I’m sure he was a bit biased, but I’ve seen my fair share of macro-ridden abominations over the years

Our evaporative air cooler uses IR, we bought a Tuya ir receiver and taught it the remote codes. Whole thing carried through to home assistant with the plugin.
