Blubber28@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever cried because of a video game?0·1 month agoOh yes absolutely, and the few people who have played these will likely agree:
-
What Remains of Edith Finch - Lewis and the finale always get me
-
Kentucky Route Zero - The expensive whiskey and “Then we buried the horses”

Blubber28@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What movie did you see too young that still haunts you to this day?0·2 months agoI bet you were pretty fucking far from OK eh?
Blubber28@lemmy.worldto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•The Emmet Bar in Toronto, Ontario introduced coasters made from the scrap metal of cars that were involved in DUIs as a reminder to the effects of impaired and drunk driving0·2 months agoThat is what it is most likely made of, yes
Blubber28@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What product or service do you use less as a result of their marketing?0·2 months agoI have never played, nor do I know anyone who has ever played, Raid: Shadow Legends
Blubber28@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•My child won't stop singing the "Lava Chicken" song from the Minecraft movie. How do I go on living?0·3 months agoAh that’s on me missing the clue then, apologies. Though in my defense, there are parents that do stuff like this.
Blubber28@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•My child won't stop singing the "Lava Chicken" song from the Minecraft movie. How do I go on living?0·3 months agoGenuine question - why is that deemed a good answer? I’d expect an actual solution for a child to be more apropriate than humiliating an adult later in life. Like the suggestions telling to start singing it yourself, wrongly, seem much more effective and appropriate to me.
Full disclosure tho: Not a parent and no plans to ever be one
Blubber28@lemmy.worldto Linux@programming.dev•Ubuntu Joins the Movement: X11 Officially Being Phased Out2·3 months agoIt works just fine for me on my RTX 3060 Ti. No significant performance decrease or stuttering at all (except in Cities Skylines II but that’s not Wayland’s fault)
Blubber28@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•A new sports festival in Las Vegas is letting athletes use performance-enhancing drugs0·4 months agoI mean, they could just choose to not participate. Especially now that it’s still new, if they can’t get many (or any) top athletes to participate, it will likely flop.
And if someone does choose to participate, well, they are free to risk their lives for a few million more imo. At the end of the day, these people are paid ludicrous amounts of money to run in circles or jump or throw stuff. Not exactly an essential job and easily replaced by another goon desperate for their five minutes of fame. It would be sad if they got hurt, sure, but they bring it upon themselves by being in that industry in the first place.

Blubber28@lemmy.worldOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•[anecdote] You learn something new every day with linux1·5 months agoI’ll investigate when I get home, but yeah it might be the shaders as well
Blubber28@lemmy.worldOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•[anecdote] You learn something new every day with linux1·5 months agoNope, PC. But honestly now that I know of the feature it won’t be an issue anymore. In fact, as many have pointed out, it can be very useful if something is messed up. Given that the distro is atomic that chance is slim, but still.
Blubber28@lemmy.worldOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•[anecdote] You learn something new every day with linux2·5 months agoAh then I don’t know what steam was installing XD. It did download and install something before installing Valheim, so I assumed it had to do with compatibility. Either way, I’m just happy that it works, and works well :)
Blubber28@lemmy.worldOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•[anecdote] You learn something new every day with linux4·5 months agoSums up my experience here pretty well too XD

Blubber28@lemmy.worldOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•[anecdote] You learn something new every day with linux10·5 months agoOh I not bashing on the feature, don’t worry. I was just very surprised when my computer seemed to freeze XD.
Out of curiousity, what kind of use cases do/did they have?
