His arm says “Nazi”, but his actions? His actions say “Super Nazi”.
Elon and Trump’s actions are indeed more nationalist, but we should not confuse it with nazism, that had nationalism as one of its traits but was much more than that. The genocidal part is what makes them evil, not the nationalism part.
If we take seriously the notion that nationalism = nazism, then China would qualify.

I think “they” is perfectly fine if the preferred pronouns are actually undisclosed (or are the persons preferred pronouns, obviously).
But using “they” like three times, in response to a post where the proper pronouns were used? And with an oppositional tone? It lays it all pretty clear that the grandparent was intentionally saying “they” as a sophomoric attempt to express their disrespect.
My parent, who is downvoted, is quite clearly calling grandparent out on it.

Well, I was saying that it is already obvious, so why is there a huge headline about what Elon’s estranged kid said it was? If it was actually in question and needed confirmation, a person who would say whatever is worse by default wouldn’t be the one to clear things up… I feel like my previous post expressed that but I could have spelled it out a bit more.

He literally just said “empathy is weakness” the other day, I think it’s pretty clear he’s got some serious personality disorder. Narcissism and sociopathy both seem to fit him pretty well but I’m just a blue-collar guy.
Idk one way or another he’s a piece of shit and I firmly believe one of the most evil people kicking, if anyone can be said to be evil, it’s him.
And I’ve played a LOT of evil in DnD over the years. Both sides of the screen. I feel like I’ve got a pretty good grasp of the concept. If he was just a character in literature I’d go “damn, that’s a good villain”, but he is, sadly, alive and real.
The first time I heard about him beyond a vague “electric car person” post was from a tech co-worker in 2017, where they said they read a biography of Elon where they basically labelled him a sociopath. So, just to emphasize to anyone in the back-row, it’s certainly not news.

My coworker is convinced it was just ‘my heart to you!’ and to him is why he no longer trusts the news. It’s crazy to watch educated people get sucked into the alt right misinformation hole.
The one that always gets people to accept reality for me is
“If it’s just “My heart goes out to you!”, then do it in public and see what happens, do it at work and see if you still have a job.”

Show them this and ask again. It’s probably not going to change their answer, but there will be a moment of confusion that passes behind their eyes as they try to reconcile reality with their beliefs.

I could imagine someone with only a vague familiarity with a Nazi salute just assuming there’s no way a fortune 500 CEO would actually do one, not recognizing how spot on of a Hitler impression that was.

There are videos of people being asked to recreate it, and while most refuse to do it, some add their own flourish to make it look like something else. That should tell you everything you need to know.

The ADL saying it wasn’t makes me believe it was even harder, I mean literally they’re the same organization that said cartoon frogs, drinking milk, and McDonalds Mascots were all racist dogwhistles and that telling Israel not to kill Arabic Children is basically denying the Holocaust.
