Also, Barack was President at the time, so this is a perplexing news story.
Of course we did. We love Nazis now. For some reason…
Can we just hurry up and get WWIII started so Europe can liberate us from the current regime? I’m getting tired of everyone in important positions sitting on their hands and just letting this stuff happen.
I’m not so sure any European nation would consider the US worth saving. Many are already on the same track to fascism as the US currently is, so if anything I’d imagine Europe would just be enablers to the US’s push toward nazism.
Always have. The article is from 2016 btw.
We love freedom of speech more than we hate Nazis.
We’re cooked.
The United States says it was one of three countries to vote against a U.N. resolution condemning the glorification of Nazism over freedom of speech issues and concerns that Russia was using it to carry out political attacks against its neighbors.
Ukraine and Palau were the other no votes.
I mean, maybe the Russia concern is honest, but I do wonder about Ukraine. They seem to have some neo-Nazi’s in their midst (see the Azov Brigade) and being unable to support this, or even abstain is disappointing.
Charitably, one could also consider that Ukraine might be voting with the US for buttering up purposes. They do kinda need Trump to somehow stay on their side.
But Palau? WTF … lol … I’ve never heard of them as a country
I’ve never heard of them as a country
Read a book?
Seriously? I can understand not in most contexts if you’re nowhere near Micronesia, but they’ve been in every Summer Olympics since 2000, so they’ve been included in every opening ceremony with their own flag bearer, plus the events. They’re not exactly an unknown nation when they’re able to compete on a global scale.
When your military is so thoroughly infested by Nazis that your state sponsored media has to revoke multiple propaganda pieces of your own soldiers openly displaying Nazi patches, tattoos, and sigils…
…and entire companies of soldiers regularly post pictures with ear to ear smiles taking pictures all together with swastika flags and Roman salutes….
Why don’t these kinda articles include the thing being talked about? I don’t want to know what an American thinks about denouncing Nazis; I want to know what was so egregious in the original resolution that America felt it was better to side with the Nazis.
Edit: Here’s the damn resolution. there’s no valid reason to oppose it. First of all it’s not legally binding, second it’s pretty much just 75ish different ways of saying “member states should oppose Nazis cause Nazis are bad, 'm-kay.” Honestly just seems like the US opposed it cause it was introduced by Russia and was thus “political.”
We condemn without reservation all forms of religious and ethnic intolerance or hatred at home and around the world Deputy U.S. Representative to the Economic and Social Council, Stefanie Amadeo
Obviously not given that you just voted against a resolution that did exactly that.
Side with Nazis? This administration IS Nazis.
