Tbh on second thought it probably should. I haven’t seen any confirmation of any downed Su-34s, which you’d think Ukraine would be extremely eager to post.

Official Ukrainian claims always take a while, they don’t want to give Russians real-time intel and they don’t make exceptions for “well the Russians probably know already”, too much organisational overhead everything is held back a couple of days.

They have a clean fact check record. Don’t confuse the Ukrainian and Russian Pravda, the latter belongs to the KPRF aka Putin stooges.

…oh just noticed that’s a lemmygrad account they won’t see me. If some kind person not banned on lemmygrad would please relay that to the tankies.

Just wait till the F-16 sorties start.

You won’t be able to swing a cat in here without hitting a whining tankie symp.

Those stories already started, some Russian mil-bloggers say that F16s are already in Ukraine which is probably copium. But I wouldn’t be too surprised if this isn’t accidental and Ukrainians re-doubled efforts to take down Russian planes (e.g. via smart and unexpected movements of anti-air installations) in anticipations of F16s coming, they’re a lot more useful more quickly if they don’t have to operate in contested skies. Every air-to-air missile you don’t need to have in your loadout is another air-to-ground one.

The same F-16s that were outclassed by the J-17 in recent military exercises?

Pakistani pilots are on record saying the F-16 is worse in basically every way compared to a design China considers to be “budget” and “outdated.”

I mean, even if that’s true… Is that really even a flex? The F-16 platform is 30 years older than the J-17.

Let’s pretend for a minute that it is actually better. Russia doesn’t field the J-17, so it doesn’t matter.

The latest lemmy update allows users to block entire instances.

My lemmy experience has been 100 times better with hexbear and lemmygrad blocked.

Except they were the ones that created Lemmy in the first place so they could live in their own little echo chamber so if anyone’s guilty of running away to hide from criticism it’s them not the general public. You know because most people don’t think communism is great. Mostly because they either saw it, learned about it, or lived through it.

Communism is just a dictatorship masquerading as a political philosophy. Both the Soviet and union and China are dictatorships with no democratic processes in existence who subjugate their population to the point of oppression.

Of course you were banned from other places you were advocating for a dictatorship.

Yeah, no. There’s really not much value lost when blocking both Lemmygrad and Hexbear. Lemmygrad is straight up insanity, it would go down as the greatest satire instance if not for the fact that they actually believe the shit they’re saying. And the loudest users of Hexbear are just hypocrites. They completely justify brigading other instances in the most offensive way possible and cry wolf when they get blocked, only to turn around and ban anyone who even remotely questions their ideology on their own instance. Blocking either is the equivalent of blocking a far-right instances, because they’re all extremist.

And this is coming from a socialist who has not blocked either instance. In fact I’m more likely to get blocked by them because despite being supposedly ideologically adjacent we have very little common ground, and they don’t take kindly to someone questioning their actions or beliefs.

If not wanting to interact with those idiots means I’m “in an echo chamber” … ok.

Background: On 22 December, Ukrainian defenders shot down three Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers on the southern front.

Dude… its been three fucking days. Unless the drop in air sorties went from dozens down to zero and stay that way for weeks to a month, this means absolutely nothing.

True to you. Strikes were reported as irregular, combing in intense series whenever Russia wanted a bigger impact. Saying just a couple of days of lesser bombing means it made an impact is too optimistic. They could’ve prepared ammunition for another bigger strike. But journoes need to write news somehow?

TBF Krause, not so long ago when I noticed your avatar, pointed out communist East Germany covertly provided weapons to Apartheid South Africa, and gave plenty of evidence to support that assertion, you called that a fairytale too.

I don’t think it’s a stretch to say you might be a bit biased, and we should probably take your comments with a mountain of salt too.

As an aside, why is it that some people who think they’re communist, also support former nomenklatura oligarchs who helped bring down the Soviet Union and now spend their days drinking champagne on a whale penis skin stool at the bar of the yaught they bought with the money they stole from the Russian people. You know, capitalist stereotypes like Yeltsin’s friend Putin?

          Pathetic.

Yet another cosplay communist, who spends his days defending the oligarchs and corrupt nomenklatura who accelerated the catastrophic fall of the Soviet Union, stole billions from their starving countrymen, and now run Russia. You know, people like Yeltsin’s friend Putin.

If I was right wing, I would find it funny. Unfortunately unlike you I’m actually left-wing, so I find it deeply embarassing and sad.

I hope you grow out of it, that this is just childish contrarianism and a lack of historical knowledge, but let’s be real. You probably won’t.
