A Michigan man is accused of fatally shooting his neighbor after getting into an argument with him on the street, officials said.
Devereaux Christopher Johnson, 47, of Canton, was arraigned Monday on first-degree murder in connection with the shooting, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office said.
The victim – 35-year-old father-of-two Nathan Morris, also of Canton – was shot and killed while on a walk Saturday morning, the prosecutor’s office said.
…
The suspect allegedly started threatening Morris’ family after one of Morris’ daughters touched the neighbor’s mulch, according to a statement from former RNC National Committeewoman Hima Kolanagireddy, a friend and colleague of the victim’s, shared on the Michigan GOP X account. Morris stayed behind to try and “diffuse” the situation while his family went home, her statement continued.
Americans are some crazy MFs…
333 million people in the states and even more guns. We’re not all nuts. My next door neighbor just thanked me profusely for scraping the weeds out of her driveway, and I didn’t even have to use my rifle!
Kidding about the rifle, but seriously, don’t let the news make you think every day in America is the purge
Your better be kidding about that rifle. Everyone knows you use a shotgun for driveway weeds!
Not for nuthin, some of us actually use a flamethrower for the weeds
I was out of the dragon’s breath shells so I tried to sub them out for some phosphorus tracer rounds
I bit showy, but okay.
Shock and awe, baby. Gotta make an example out of 'em.
Instructions unclear, purge has begun.
That there’s some mulch-toucher talk.

Johnson was additionally charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of felony firearm.
Why in the fuck did this guy have a gun in the first place?
Because we don’t have universal background checks.
This is America.
You can easily have a non-felon buy it for you.
You could buy it off of a private individual.
It’s America, home of the brave and land of the gun purchase loophole.
You know perfectly well why. Because one of his buddies who believes “gun ownership is a human right” gave it to him. Or “accidentally lost it” at his place.
This shit is rampant, and is why the US needs gun registration.
You see, you can’t put toothpaste back in the tube.
But you can damn well start cleaning it up instead of smearing it everywhere.
Better judged by 12 than have your neighbor’s daughter touch your mulch.
I mean, it sounds here like the mulch was already touched, so I don’t think that could be changed even by taking on first degree murder charges. I think the question here is more whether it’s better to go down for murder than to let the mulch-touching go uncontested.
Private sales not requiring a background check means it’s easy for people to buy a gun without even giving the seller a name. Like, they don’t even have to give a fake one, they can just not mention a name.
But a lot of idiots are convinced the reason they can sell a used gun for more than a new one costs is they’re savvy businessmen…
And not that people pay a premium if they can’t pass a background check.
Didn’t know what mulch is, and I’m still not sure. We’re talking about this?:
I don’t understand
Yeah that’s mulch. Mulch is a weed barrier and a great source of nutrients for flower and shrub beds
This was probably a property line argument or just a little kid being a little kid and throwing some mulch around. This will never really make any sense because the perpetrator sounds like a total lunatic
Or maybe he was hiding something in the mulch.
Imagine being the type of person who thinks shooting someone after a minor disagreement is acceptable. How angry and empty must your life be to resort to such an extreme response.
mulch is the new grass.
Hey, don’t touch mulch or you’ll be shot. Kinda like don’t get out of the car to yell at someone who hit your car with a plastic bottle or you might be beaten to a pulp. Victims gotta realize it’s their fault, because society made the bad guy. 🙄🙄🙄🙄/s
I live in a new neighborhood and the house beside mine is still vacant. Every few days, I see potential buyers pull up with their agents to check it out. I cross my fingers hoping my eventual neighbor will be chill and easy-going.
What was his BAC?
relatable, but with computer operating systems
