  • “better detailed” doesn’t necessarily mean “better art” …

Art being fidel to reality is it’s own subset of art movement, called realism. Many people appreciate it as “wow this is so close to real life/so much effort”, but then if you ask people what they think the greatest artworks are they might bring any artist. Van Gogh, Da Vinci, Dalí, Picasso, Pollock, etc.

So no, just because something is closer to real life does not make it “objectively the best art” in the broader sense of art. Maybe you can measure that when pit against other realism pieces, which sre not as faithful to real life.

  • So he saw these people were transported like cattle, dehydrated and mistreated, and instead of letting them get off the planes, he’s sent them back in those same planes so he can retrieve them with normal planes?

Unless I am missing something, I feel like you’d want those people to not fly in a plane like that again.

Either the plane didn’t take off in the first place, case in which rejecting it would make sense.

Or those planes landed in Colombia, then sent back so they can be brought in proper planes, extending the suffering for no reason.

  • i don’t think anyone on lemmy is simply bloodlusting. The CEO getting murdered just shows how sick people are of the current system lol

People don’t necessarily actually want more murders to happen, they just want the system to be fixed. Unfortunately, it was so bad it got to this.

Now, murder is bad and it’s usually bad to go vigilante justice, however in this scenario it’s preferable over the much bigger quantity of deaths and suffering the CEO had on his hands.

  • scrolling in the comment section of this news article, i’ve only seen people either being concerner/shocked, and some sarcastically talking about recycling or something. Nothing about masturbation.

And if your criticism of lemmy is that it’s being reddit with elitism, then why try to gatekeep the way people are going to react to an article on c/science? Are we all supposed to have degrees in chemistry or biology before making a comment?

Believe it or not people take heavy news a million different ways and react differently. People ending up making a masturbation joke after discussing microplastics in testicles (i assume this is what happened) harm nothing and no one.
