I finally started working out again! I also work from home and my Job made me miserable, but I’ll be starting a new Job in November and that gave me hope and motivation to pull myself out of the depression hole.

This legit made me laugh out loud
Who’s to say he has a medical condition? My hands shake for some time after carrying heavy bags, but the shaking stops after a while. Maybe the guy strains his firearms a lot when he’s masturbating?
It’s nice to find a fellow “insurance worker” amidst all them software engineers/ IT guys here on Lemmy 😄
Oh yes, I usually end up saying “I work in insurance” because any more specific than that and people look at me with question marks in their faces
Starship trooper when I was still in kindergarten. The only thing I remember from this movie is the scene where the bug drills a hole in the soldiers head to drink his brain. Don’t plan to watch this movie ever again in my life
Had to switch from connect to Voyager to post this one
We were in Croatia once at a beautiful little restaurant at the beach. The food was fine except it was completely cold when it was brought to our table. Not warm, not lukewarm, I mean cold. Sat on the counter over an hour cold.
Same here! I do get drunk on occasion but never out of control
Actually, dual citizenship in Germany is only allowed for a few select non-EU countries. For everyone else: first you apply for citizenship. Then they say citizenship will be granted, under the condition that you provide proof of revoking your previous citizenship within 2 years. Then you revoke your previous citizenship and give the confirmation to the immigration department. They will process it (during those weeks you are practically stateless) and grant you citizenship on this basis. Source: did this three years ago
Especially people who never lived in a communist state
Starship troopers. Still have the mental Image of the bug drilling a hole in a dudes head.
Also robo cop. All I can remember is him (only head and torso) being hooked up to cables and medical computers and one of the scientists says “what a weird kind of pain he’s having” or something like that
Omg YES. I am so tired of seeing bad news all the time, all it does is ruin your day. I come to Lemmy to unwind and escape reality, to look at some funny memes and forget my life for a bit, not to be constantly reminded of all the horrible things happening in the world.
Pretty good actually.
Germany: 4 years elementary school, after that the kids are divided into 3 school categories based on their performance:
Hauptschule 5-9, after that you either start apprenticeship for 3 years and learn a profession, or you continue with Realschule
Realschule 5-10, after that you either start apprenticeship for 3 years and learn a profession or you continue with Gymnasium
Gymnasium 5-12, after that you may apply for university. You can only enroll in university if you have completed grade 12 final exams (called Abitur)
In Germany kids are required to be enrolled in school or in apprenticeship by law until they turn 18
That’s a template for a goose though.
