I’m having this issue too To the point where I will see the same posts by the same users and communities 3-4 times in a row, repeatedly. It didn’t used to be this bad, but the past month or so, it’s constant. My app is up to date.

I like jerboa, but it’s to the point where I’m seriously considering other lemmy apps.

I’m a plumber, almost said i was a plunger… anyways, my go to for a kitchen sink clog is a plunger. We get a lot of weird looks/naysaysers when I pull it out. “Oh i tried plunging it, that wont work”.

Trust me, I’ve been in many of your houses, my plunger is professional, and i know how to use it. Works 80% of time on sink clogs in my 6 years of plumbing.

I guess ill share the plumbing secret. You have to block the opposite side of the plunging with a wet rag, or preferably a drain stopper. Put pressure on the stopper and plunge the other side. Also, if there is a garbage disposal, you can block both drain when full of water, and turn it on for 10 seconds or so… a lot of times, this clears the clog.

Wet rag works on bathrooms sinks too, put it over the overflow holes while plunging.

Warning tho, if your underpipes aren’t mostly secure, you can just push water through the seals all under your sinks, this is fine. kinda i guess, just tighten them up and try again and bring a towel. You can make sure they are secure by tightening them. Its like a bolt, righty tighty, on all underside piping connections.

AND FOR THE LOVE OF EYESIGHT AND CHEMICAL BURNS, JUST TELL US YOU USED DRAINO. Even if it was a few days ago before the problem started. I know a guy who had his foot melted in the winter by stepping in a sewer puddle from draino, im talking no meat left… and if you get it in your eye, within a few seconds before you can wash it out, you have permanent eye damage.

I’m using jerboa. Its free and open source. I have never seen an ad and never paid any money.

I used to think this way. I am a service plumber. I’m at the point where every plumbing company is hiring. If a customer wants to be disrespectful to me, there is a fine line where I am not going to put up with their shit. Pun intended. Hell… I’d probably get a raise if I were fired.

I’m not saying a yelling match will be involved, thats not my style, but man I deal with entitled people on a daily basis. Most recent was a woman who called for repairs. We told her the hourly rate and about how long it will take. We told her it would take about 3 hours + parts. I finished in 2, with way less parts than I thought I would need. It was a 30 minute ordeal between calling the office and negotiating prices… She thought that was too much money, even though she agreed for even more billable hours and I finished the job faster than expected.

It’s hit or miss man, and its the worst part of my job is dealing with customers… Yes, I said that, dealing with literal shit half the time is not as bad as having to deal with some of the customers out there.

Ah, thats a shame. Pdanet also has an app called foxfi, which can active unlimited hotspot on some phones/carriers, so uou wouldn’t need the client app.

I have been bypassing this with Pdanet app for over 10 years. I don’t think the app gets regular updates anymore, but it has worked for me on many different phones, and windows versions. Also different carriers.

Doesn’t have to be usb either, I use the wifi direct setting it has and have used 100gb in a month. With minimal or no slowdown.
