The fact that 22 of those 75 were just this year reinforces my suspicion that drivers have been getting enormously worse recently.

From my understanding it’s pretty widely known that most intelligence agencies though something could happen but not the specifics, and chose not to act on that information or communicate with one another.
The exact reasons aren’t known obviously. My gut tells me incompetence/apathy from government agencies. That’s not a very cinematic or compelling answer, though, and I think a lot of people look for more interesting narratives.
Whenever a big tragedy like 9/11 happens, people tend to try and look for the Chekhov’s gun that shows a deeper meaning or dramatic orchestration. That’s just not real life though.
Had a Galaxy S8 and loved it. Got a Pixel 6 and now the slow fingerprint sensor is the bane of my existence. Why did they put it on the front? Why is that the standard now? It sucks, it’s just slower and less ergonomic.
That setup is cursed and I wouldn’t recommend it for Linux gaming personally
I would murder my whole family for a $5 sandwich meal deal in the states. Even fast food by my work is double that, and you’re still only getting America-quality food packed with sugars and preservatives.
Reddit is just karma-based ego battles with no room for actual discourse. Lemmy is small and highly community-oriented so no one cares about that stuff.
Start organized movements to heavily push for ranked choice voting. If it becomes a national movement then maybe we’ll first start seeing it locally, then on a larger scale.
Someone’s post count does not influence anything about their experience with Lemmy.
I like the implication that guns are equal to cars in terms of necessity. Some people can’t leave their homes without driving, and some people (cowards) can’t leave their suburban house without their emotional support weapon.
Didn’t even think about that because I live in America and mostly tour around rural areas with no public transportation lol
Been doing that, unfortunately I live in a big city so it’s a bit of an infinite treadmill. I like to just mark parking lots since no one seems to do those ever and they’re changing pretty frequently.
Organic maps is better than Google maps for about everything besides finding businesses. If you’re traveling long distances for landmark tourism especially, it’s just objectively better IMO.
It doesn’t, since govt. subsidies still go to healthcare in America, so I’m paying for this privilege in taxes and insurance premiums.
I shouldn’t write Lemmy posts while driving, my math becomes silly 💀
My employer’s insurance plan, which is REALLY good mind you, takes $2800 annually in premiums, then actually starts to cover your expenses after you’ve spent $1600 on health care. That is, unless you’re “out of network”, AKA the hospital/office doesn’t have a contract with your insurance company, in which case it kicks in after $3200. So basically, minimum of $3400, max of $5000, and that’s for like the top 1% best insurance available, assuming you’re only doing things your insurance covers.
stealing other people’s cells to eat them
This will become a sex thing for sure
New account, this has to be bait lol
Cunk takes on archaeology
It is, and as an autistic person I hereby give you all the R-word pass
