Can I have my 3rd party now, especially since the DNC is already running as a third party in NYC after they forgot to rig their own primary again.

People who get heated over declarations that both sides are the same, take note. This is what we mean when we say this. The Democratic Party could not any more obviously be controlled opposition. This entire time of people is a full of venture capitalists, wealthy people, wealth-backed people.

Both sides aren’t the same. In the same sense that the good cop and the bad cop who come to interrogate me aren’t the same. It’s true the bad cop is going to knock me about a bit and scream at me, and the good cop is going to be nice to me. But they both work for the police. They both are trying to land me in jail. They’re on the same side. They’re just trying to get what they want out of me from two different angles. The one angle is direct, it does the heavy lifting. Why do you think the Republicans always get so much done when they’re in power but when the Democrats hold majorities they don’t get anything done? It’s for the same reason that the good cop doesn’t get me set free back onto the streets without a shred of new evidence out of me. It’s unbelievable that people fall for the oldest trick in the book when it’s so clearly presented. The people who think the Democratic Party aren’t controlled opposition are like people who think the circus clown really didn’t mean to slip on that banana peel and land in the whoopee cushion. It’s a show, my god.

I can’t speak for everyone but for me personally I’m less angry about the whole “both sides are the same” argument than I am about the total lack of a plan over what to do about it. I agree with what you just said but it gets really old hearing it from people who seemingly think that simply saying the line is enough to actually effect change. Absent of a plan it really feels more like a conspiracy to divide the left than a path towards real change.

“Do nothing. Let Trump harm people. Use the carnage to discipline our own left flank. Lock out all the leadership and campaign positions in the party to prevent a progressive revolt. Run the exact same campaign we lost on in 2016 and 2024, while actively AVOIDING the much further left policies that got us over by 7M votes in 2020.”

If you’re on android and using swiftkey that might be your culprit. For ages I thought I was getting worse but the more I looked at it the more I noticed Swiftkey was suggesting me words that didn’t exist or were spelt wrong. Eventually I switched keyboards and it became way easier.

I could swear the original Swype keyboard for Android all the way back in 2012 did a better job than modern phone keyboards.

The thing that blows my line is that you will swipe or tap out an obvious typo, and the phone is smart enough to read the context of the sentence, and Apple claimed years ago about reverse context corrections, but it seems to never ever make the obvious corrections.

We have the technology! Why on earth can no one make it work?

Oh 100%. It was so easy to type and/or Swype back then. I remember complaining in the late teens how it had gotten much worse.

Back around 2012 people were impressed by how fast I could write in a phone without errors, now? I can barely type a sentence without typos.

on top of that, LLMs are perfect for this, why aren’t they used?

the LLM can get the context of the sentence and very clearly guess of I mean “if” or “of”. and it can be fine tuned to your writing style as well.

That starts at the very top with Cherny himself, whose most recent project before this was a scandal-ridden corporate venture.(…) and far from being “one hundred percent fossil-fuel free,” that fund invested least in renewable energy while owning shares in a number of dirty companies.(…) The move resulted in a series of possibly fraudulent deals struck under Cherny’s nose, which eventually earned the firm a federal probe and, most recently, the arrest of his former business partner.

And that thing is in charge just because he is s well connected Christian… You guys are the best working cleptocracy ever seen…

I’m sure these neoliberals wish they could just do what they did in Chile in the early 1970s: overthrow a democracy and replace it with a neoliberal dictatorship.

Admittedly, they don’t necessarily want a permanent dictatorship, it’s more a means to achieve their final goal, which is a neoliberal technocracy. They believe that neoliberalism has been proven to be the best socioeconomic system - the culmination of, and end of, all human history - and that if we can just get the right technocrats in power they can tweak and adjust things just right so as to get neoliberal capitalism back on track. It is, after all, the last and only system human beings will ever need (according to them).

The Democrats are beyond saving and need more than reform. Their abuse of the two party system bought us fascism, and only by breaking their hold do we have any hope for a brighter future.
