Amazing insight. When the article talks about the “threat from Trump,” is it implying Trump is currently President?

Biden is president, the threats that Trump poses are also part of Bidens presidency. The years of just letting him do whatever he wants without prosecution. They keep saying he’s a threat to democracy, is Biden just impotent in defending Americas democracy?

Biden doesn’t and shouldn’t directly control the Attorney General. There have been federal charges filed against Trump in two cases. Now it is up to the judiciary to move those cases forward.

Absolutely he controls the attorney general. Its his own appointment and he has full discretion to fire and replace, as we saw with trump.

So… Biden should lean on fascism to do what’s best for the country? Stoop to the level of Republicans? I think a lot of us disagree

what fascism, Im talking about prosecuting for federal crimes, which is the executive branch’s duty. Trump was committing fascism by having his attorney general not prosecute his federal crimes.

Isn’t prosecuting crime more of a judicial branch thing?

Edit: I checked, looks like attorney general is executive branch

Also, firing the attorney general when they don’t prosecute who you think they should seems pretty bad. Especially when it’s a political rival. Maybe leave that to the person who is not directly impacted by the outcome of the prosecution? Like a checks and balances kinda idea?

No, the judicial branch oversees trials and makes rulings. In federal court, the executive branch acts as the prosecutor, making the case that federal crimes were committed. They dont decide guilt, they just make the case.

Correct. Joe Biden is not a dictator with ultimate power and control over everything that happens in the United States.

Should Biden borrow a play from Xi Jinping or Putin and have Trump executed?

Should Biden the military to force Donald Trump off of ballots?

What legal recourse so Joe Biden have to stop Trump from running for president?

prosecution, prosecution was always his legal recourse. When federal crimes are committed, like Trump inciting an insurrection against the democratic process at the capitol, nothing happens without the executive branch starting the process. They bring charges against a defendant and serve as prosecution in court. And nothing happening is exactly what happened, no charges were brought against Trump for several years. They waited so long the trial isnt likely to even begin until after the election, when Trump will simply pardon himself from the charges.
