Recently bought a leatherman skeletool. It’s so compact and the perfect amount of utility for me. And it doubles as a fidget toy.

These are just frankly necessary if you live far enough north. When I’m going to sleep at 11pm ish, the sun is still up lmao.

51° N. I’m also on the fourth floor of a building, so the horizon is farther away. I’m exaggerating a little bit. By “still up” I really mean it’s still bright enough out, twilighty, that it would affect my ability to sleep. Bedroom window also faces east, so, yeah it’s a combination of factors but still.

It would matter more for your ability to fall asleep at night if your bedroom faces West. Do you mean it affects your ability to sleep in late?

I grew up 2 blocks from a train station that would start running routes every 10 min starting at 5:30 or so. Oh boy I can’t believe I slept through it as a kid, I wouldn’t be able to now without re-acclimating.

There’s definitely nuance to how you do it in the instant pot, depending on what kind of rice it is. Zojirushi is a little more hands-off, and fool-proof. I just never decide 2 hours in advance that I want rice with dinner.

Pro tip, you can also cook oatmeal and beans in it and it’s better then any other way.

I use an instant pot and it works really well. I use it for other things too but honestly rice is probably what it gets used for the most.

I have an instant pot as well, and used that for rice too. But it is nice to be able to have beans in the instant pot and rice in the rice cooker at the same time.

Oh damn, I hadn’t thought about this but that’s not a bad idea. My mom used to have one when I was a teenager and would make this potato bread that I friggin’ loved. She always said it was dead simple, maybe it’s time to look into that myself.

One of those flip boards for folding shirts, especially if you’re adhd, it makes it so you can neatly fold them and still see the front of the shirt so no more unfolding a bunch of things to check if it’s what you want and then just get left there unfolded

genuinely curious, do most people fold shirts so the front ends up inside? I pretty much just copied the way they fold them at stores so the front is on display

My wife doesn’t just do this, she irons t-shirts inside out to protect the design, but also folds them with the design on the inside. Most of my t-shirts are black, so I have no way of telling them apart without unfolding them…

A microwave sandwich griller. I saw one recommended on another of this type thread, so I gave it a try. You can’t believe how great this thing is. When I worked in an office, I had grilled sandwiches several times a week, and I still use it at home all the time.
