I mean, like, my sister’s ex-friend engages in abusive behaviors but claims to want to help people in bad situations (only non-autistic people) , doesn’t want to hate others or autistic people but does, and really is fond of kids and animals. Why? I know that kids and animals are considered to be more innocent and naive, but helping others? To gain a better publicity? Why?

Thinking it could be one of three possible things:

    • they do it to make up for the horrible things they do, or to cover that up and give people less of a reason to assume they’re an awful person, deep down

    • everyone loves children/animals/people with special needs, including some horrible people. Even if you’re a serial rapist, I’m sure you may still have a soft spot when it comes to a friendly dog as most normal, not so horrible people feel too

    • it gives them an avenue to commit more horrible acts because these are all groups of people and creatures that can’t exactly fight back nor speak up for themselves, making them ripe targets for abuse
