This sounds like Clinton and her deplorables. You know what that line of reasoning wrought last time? Trump’s first term. You are repeating the Dems’ mistakes and expecting different results.

This kind of thinking sounds like The West Wing, which I maintain has been the most corrosive media in a generation. It simultaneously made people very dumb and very smugly sure that they’re smart and right and morally correct. A deprogramming podcast: The West Wing Thing

Lemme break this down for you:

Kamala pointed out that people are in fact not eating dogs and cats, and the consensus was “God damn he’s right, her voice is obnoxious”

Walz asked, if immigration is such a problem, why did they block the border bill, and the consensus was “Tampon Tim really does sound like the biggest pussy I’ve ever met. If that dude was slouching any harder he’d be asleep”

Like, you gotta convince those guys to vote for you. Clearly anything logical or based on anything in reality does not work.

But like, keep thinking that you can use nerd shit to convince a bunch of bros to not vote for the exciting one. Downvote me all to hell, doesn’t make it less true. Keep thinking virtuously, like you can’t treat them like idiots, you can’t dance their dance, and keep losing elections hard.

You get behind workers, they tear you apart over the deficit and you just stand there like “uhhh well actually that is not correct” and they go vote Trump

The only way to defeat Trump with logic is when we have a million dead people from his incompetence. Really let that sink in before responding. This is the world we live in, deal with it instead of denying it

Yeah… I don’t think you understand how politics works or how power works or who is really in power[1][2] or how the media & propaganda work. Your arguments are in the world of pure idealism. Real politics scarcely happens in the marketplace of ideas.

But like, keep thinking that you can use nerd shit to convince a bunch of bros to not vote for the exciting one.

I don’t know why you think I’m suggesting anything of the sort.

That’s the nerd shit I’m talking about. Trump supporters don’t care about that, they care about Trump having that ‘wanna have a beer with the guy’ charisma and that’s why he keeps winning elections despite not adhering to anything you posted. People can’t wrap their heads around that one simple thing and instead stick to the things that you claim supposedly win elections. Guess what. Ya don’t LOL. And you can’t see the forest for the trees. Good day, maybe you’ll learn

I’m not talking to Trump supporters, I’m talking to you. But you’re so dense and smugly sure of your brilliance that you’re not going to listen, so I’ll stop now.

why are you trying to appeal to trump supporters?? they will never ever vote for you! that’s the entire point! this campaign failed because they tried to appeal to trump voters and ate shit!! holy fuck, maybe they should focus on appealing to their voter base, the people who might actually vote for them. jesus christ lmao democrats are fucking doomed.

Also. About deplorables. I’m saying they act like 5th graders behind their backs. Guess what they call people like you and me in Discord? F=gg=ts. I didn’t say they are literal fifth graders or anything, more an analogy of how little they care about learning or knowledge or facts. So enough of that high horse bullshit. Keep taking it I guess. If you’re nice enough to them they might not spit in your face and laugh

I’m just saying, instead of trying to level with them, try the one thing that we have ever seen actually do anything: get up there and have more charisma than him and make him the butt of so many jokes that everyone is straight up laughing at him. Everything else is like a squirt gun against a rain coat

get up there and have more charisma than him and make him the butt of so many jokes that everyone is straight up laughing at him.

That and be more of an outright Nazi than him. You forget that it’s not just about charisma, it’s about creating a white christian ethnostate. If you can out-Trump Trump, which inherently means amplifying Fascist rhetoric in a folksy charming, but also entertainingly scathing critique of everything not white and rich, then yeah, you’ll win. But otherwise the right will always vote for the biggest Nazi in the room.

Failure to recognize this is a failure to recognize how the right thinks. Fascism isn’t the outlier in the American right, it is the norm. They just don’t like calling it Fascism, they prefer traditional christian values.

It really sucks that you’re right but this is a big part of the reality of modern elections. What people don’t seem to get about what you’re saying is that this strategy is not intended to make Republicans vote for Democrats, it’s intended to make them stay home. Their perception of Trump is that he’s a strongman. It doesn’t matter that such a description is hilariously off base. It matters that they believe it. Stand up there and call him a pussy with small hands who can’t swing a golf club to save his life and watch him throw a toddler fit while the country looks on. This has the added benefit of giving idiotic “undecideds” the soundbites they clearly want which just might convince some of them to vote for you.

Is it stupid? Absolutely. Would it work? I honestly think it would.
