It’s funny that Musk still massively supports a party for which nepotism seems to be one of the central goals. It starts with the positions Trump’s children and relatives hold - I’m pretty sure they have no qualifications apart from the fact that they are related to Trump. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

In regards to Musk’s businesses it might be considered a mercy for his kids to not inherit them…
Muski’s kids hate him, so obviously he assumes everyones kids hate their parents.
The warning is only because he personally doesn’t want to give his businesses to his kids.
Nepotism is obviously bad and you shouldn’t just arbitrarily pass it on.

Nepotism isn’t the same thing as bequesting something to someone else.
If you’re engaging in nepotism, you’re in a situation where people are supposed to be treated impartially but are not.
But that obligation doesn’t exist in terms of bequesting stuff that’s actually yours – you don’t have constraints on who to leave it to.
If Elon Musk left his 20% or whatever share of Tesla to his kid, that wouldn’t be nepotism.
But if he attempted to arrange that his kid be CEO of Tesla, that would.

This is rich comming from a guy who at least for his older kids was never a real present in their lives and who in turn decided they don’t want his present. One outright cutting all ties and changing their last name to their mother’s so they won’t be associated with him anymore.
