It’s hard to take a moral high ground when you end up leaving several dozen people out in the dust. Whether he genuinely cares for them (and I’m sure most people like at least some of their co-workers) or it would just be bad PR, walking away and leaving them with nothing probably won’t mesh with any message he’d be trying to send.

If you cancelled your Disney+ over this, don’t reactivate it just because they bring Kimmel back. They can’t get away with just a slap on the wrist, they need to lose a whole hand. I dunno, man. My mind goes to positive reinforcement for doing the right thing. Disney is a maaaaaaaaaassive fucking corporation with a platform that can reach many many people. If we reward them for fixing their mistakes and punish them for going against societal contracts and moral values, then perhaps they will put out content that reinforces the societal contacts and moral values which helps fight authoritarianism.
Money is what they care about, not values, but even if they are spreading the values we want just because of money then they are still spreading the values we want. We need platforms that can at least even pretend supporting our narratives in the sea of right wing propaganda.

- Plex
- Apple TV because I used to work there and have it free until next year.

FYI, you can watch late night TV programs like Kimmel for free over the air with an antenna in most cities.
These local TV stations basically just broadcast ABC content with added local news and ads. It does not matter where you watch Kimmel - the views are still aggregated at Disney and they still benefit from them.
