He is positioned the way he is due to the “slatted” design of the humvee grill. Because of that, you’d either have to have them down there or up on the actual hood. You don’t want a human shield squirming on the hood because the humvee sight lines are already bad so if you were the kind of war criminal that’s also practical, this would be where you would put them.

- The IDF gave this person to the Red Crescent
- Israel said they’re "looking into this matter and will deal with this accordingly
The speculation is that they were using him as a human shield. I, and everyone else for that matter, don’t know this for absolute certainty. We can both agree that this is a rather crude way of transporting an injured person at best or a deliberate war crime at worst.
