A neighbor told me that her daughter had been out playing in the yard one evening and apparently mistook a couple of young skunks as being kitties. They were quite docile and followed her up to the house. Fortunately, nobody got sprayed, not even the dog. Skunks are surprisingly docile when they don’t feel threatened in my experience, so I guess that’s why the kid thought they were cats?

      Reminds me of this meme

Meme -ish image that is a screenshot of two Tumblr posts. The top post by user "fullmetalfisting" reads: 'Apparently when my grandma first came to America she didn't know what a raccoon was and assumed it was a fucensored with orange brush up cat and adopted it. I just imagine this 13 yr old girl with a heavy Eastern European accent being like "this is my cat, Petr. He is not very friendly"'. The bottom post by "homophobic-gay" has a drawing of a girl in what looks like some sort of more old-timey stereotypically East European dress holding a slightly irate-looking raccoon with two speech bubbles: "this is my cat Petr", "he is not very friendly".

Am I the only one who takes some issue with tokers being portrayed as divorced from reality? You’re a lot more likely to do those kinds of things under the influence of alcohol than thc.

The better version of this meme has more hippie rainbow colours and goes with acid instead of weed (which is still not actually realistic, but is a lot funnier)

it’s kinda a trope going back to 60s but even further to reafer madness and basically it nickname is a slur on Mexicans. Alcohol has for sure made people do way more stupid shit and too much will kill you. there’s probably only been a small handful of people that have died from consumption of cannabis.

it’s propaganda that weed makes you stupid. it does mess with your short term memory and it does affect your behavior. and anything smoking related is unhealthy but fucking a, you are absolutely correct

My understanding is its impossible to overdose but if you smoke so much you get no oxygen, then you can die from that? Its one of the safest chemicals when it comes to dose limits, even chocolate is more dangerous in that respect.

I have read that it can cause lung cancers in those that are susceptible, that don’t make themself apparent as being caused by cannabis.

the safeness of it comes from the fact that to OD on it you have to consume sooo much in a short period that basically you would fall asleep before you can even come close to the deadly dose.

also if people use chemical fertilizers to grow it, that can pass through to you

      More or less, yeah.

You’re a lot more likely to do those kinds of things under the influence of alcohol than thc.

Wandering around in the dark drunk off your ass more likely ends in a goat rescuing you.
