I think you guessed right. It could be phrased more clearly but I think they were just pointing out that since your comment is partially censored and your instance is known for word filter censoring, in their opinion your instance is not suitable for commenting properly. Maybe they wanted to inform you in case you didn’t notice or it was just a dig at lemmy.ml.
It’s not good for readability when random parts of text gets removed. I’m not familiar with the topic of this thread so I can’t deduce what Raremoved even means.
I think it’s just that raremoved part. Which comment didn’t make sense?
Someone commented on my post about Devil World that what I experienced was Tetris effect. When I was scrolling vertically on my phone I would occasionally experience sideways scrolling similar to the game mechanic even though there certainly wasn’t any sideways scrolling happening.
Another one was when I was playing Portal. Traveling via portals became my usual method to move around in every dream I had those days.
If you happened to like one of your test bakings particularly then you couldn’t reproduce it as accurately unless your method is consistent enough. So you wouldn’t benefit that much if the test was success, I suppose. But I don’t really do much baking so I don’t know how difficult it is to get it right and how much it matters.
I think he meant having the 3,5 mm jack in a phone.
Maybe their necklaces and earrings don’t adhere to OSHA regulations. I don’t know. Everyone has to use their own judgement when posting and I think it’s better to mark NSFW when in doubt, but there seems to be at least two different ways people use NSFW feature so sometimes the choice of using an NSFW tag might not make sense.
The idea I had was just so ridiculously evil I just had to teil about it 😄
If you think about it the rock and tape hack can be easily prevented, but I’m not going to elaborate any further as to not give them more ideas.
So even if someone came up with a system whereby they expected you to watch an ad before the power would flow, you could always just plug in and walk away. How are they going to know you’re physically there?
How about a button located near the ad screen and speaker that you have to hold like at least 80% of ad duration. If you failed to reach 80% it would reset to 0 and show you another ad so you can try again.
You mean collage? I agree. I think your suggestion would work best if it was also made to look like an obvious collage. If it was accurately photoshopped to look like the penguins were actually there it would look silly.
I like the Impact font one the best. Makes it more old school. Someone should make a motivational poster of this because we clearly don’t have enough of this meme.
What difference does the federation make in this case? Either way the personal data is in someone else’s computer.
Apparently posting a very old meme that is funny because it’s not funny. Also making a reference to something not many people know about, moaning about learning to use new software being waste of time (I don’t understand what was the issue. Maybe I was off-topic), and having an opinion that Apple is any good.
But in many cases Windows is pre-installed so it doesn’t matter if installing Windows is equally hard. People don’t have to install Windows in order to use it. In order to get normal people to use Linux there should be similarly no barrier to entry. I’ve seen companies selling used laptops with Linux distro of choice pre-installed. Something like that could work.
A ‘pager’ is a utility that takes a markup text (say, Roff) and displays that text, formatted, in the terminal. The first pager was nroff(1) for the aforementioned Roff, and you may still find nroff(1) on UNIX-based systems.
Wouldn’t it be less or more (or most) that is the pager part and roff being the part that does formatting for terminal. As far as I understand roff does the runoff of the text file. It formats the text properly and inserts all the necessary escape codes for terminal. Then that can be piped to pager which shows the text page by page.
Looks like an interesting project. Didn’t try it but looked into the source code and I think there was not really any keybindings similar to less. I suggest adding at least g, G, C-f and C-b.
But would it be possible for this project to utilize external pager? That would make the development easier.
But does it mean the 15% is non-standard or just not implemented at all? If it’s not implemented then all of the implementation is 100% standard compliant and if everyone stopped relying on the 15% part then developing for Firefox should make it compatible for rest of the browsers.
It’s difficult for me too sometimes. I was sick so I was trying to figure out who should I ask to bring me some medicine from pharmacy or whether to not ask anyone. Maybe I could go there myself even though I was very sick or maybe I could be without medicine. Finally I asked a friend. I almost didn’t ask her because I didn’t want to bother her and I would’ve hated it if she said no.
Everything is enshittification. And you better like GNU/Linux, or else…
