I mean… That is not really what was puzzling about mercury. Its elliptical orbit, as predicted by Newtonian physics, was shifting a little each orbit. It was not a trick of the light bending, it actually moves “wrong” according to newtonian physics. It was the Swedish social insurance agency with these parts of the recruitment process probably outsourced to the lowest bidder.

Not the interview itself, but… I had a personality test before the interview and it felt so fucked up. There were always two completely different statements of, at least to me, questionable morals. Like “I enjoy people’s envy of me having better things” and “In social situations, the conversation should only be about me”. Stuff like that, but not only egoistic statements. Then you had a single scale under the two statements which went from “describes me” to “describes me very well”, for both statements, no neutral option. Stated time was like 10 minutes, I took it like in an hour. An hour of having to think through if I should say that “not having sympathy for an abandoned dog describes me” because the other option was more horrible. Felt fucking traumatized after that.

It got me the interview, but not the job.

For sudo there is a compile option which taunts you if you enter the wrong password. At least in gentoo that flag is called ‘offensive’. I just imagined another feature to the flag where a guard will show up as well.

I’m running PopOS on a computer for wathing media at home. I’m not too impressed. I read a bunch of comment threads recommening it so I treid it out. They seem a bit unstable – that at least falls in OP middle ground. I made an update and dpms management was just different, like the screen is no longer turning itself off. I’ve had some thing like this happen on it. It’s not breakage, it’s a bit annoying. “Just works”? Eh, sure, kinda’.
