They are not talking about the mathematical definition of color, but how the color is represented in the mental image you have in your head. Think about how a blue wavelength becomes a blue “pixel” in your head. It is possible to imagine other colors? If we could see ultraviolet, what color would it be? Is my blue the same as your blue or what my brain interprets as blue is different from what your brain does?

PHP weirdness and inconsintencies never fail to amaze me.
On the bright side, I found my first StackOverflow answer that would fit exactly the same on Linguistic Stack Exchange.
Partially unrelated to the meme, but I find it almost malicious how some python keywords are named differently from the nearly universal counterpart of other languagues.
This/self, continue/pass, except/catch and they couldn’t find a different word for switch so they just didn’t implement it.
It’s as if the original designers purposefully wanted to be different for the sake of it.
0·10 days agoTry and ask her the real reason why she might be reluctant. “Because they’re muslim” is not a really strong argument; “because they are fundamentalist and they might extrange me as daughter or prevent me fron leaving the house if they found out” is a very practical explaination on this compromise she decided to take.
Families are complicated and sometimes shitty, but it’s her family and navigating around you and them could be difficult (she might love her parents and want to maintain a relationship with them, or she hates them but relies on their financial support, both options are valid)
It depends on the definition of “color”. For us humans, in our everyday life, the abstraction we have in our mind is more meaningful than the wavelength, which is what formally defines a color, but not how we cognitively perceive it
