I put the foil in larger squares to fit under the silver metal tubes used as offsets for the heated bed. I’m not sure if foil under the pei will work, my worry would be making the bed uneven vs just adjusting the position. Is this the one that doesn’t have adjustable bed springs? I had a bed that wouldn’t level on the neptune pro with no adjustable springs and software couldn’t compensate outside of small prints.

I had to take the bed apart partially and use little shims (in my case tinfoil) to even the bed to the point where mesh leveling could handle the remaining flaws.

It’s not like I make or save a lot of money from it, but as a hobby it’s been amazingly fun. Getting into basic 3D modeling has been really cool too, nothing quite hits like making something entirely unique and designed for a specific purpose, then watching your printer just crank it out in a day or two and your imagined thing is all the sudden real.

I’m sure other hobbies can do that too, but for me it was a really awesome feeling :)

Helped my dad do tech support for a doc office. Even simple stuff like glucose meters barely worked on windows 7, and broke with windows 10. The web portal they used required a specific version of internet explorer to function. I think the biggest issue is always going to be how slowly these devices work in terms of drivers and software compatibility. For security and cost reasons, I’d guess.

I think it’s also worth keeping in mind that some people use AI to generate “real sounding” content for clicks, or for scams, rather than making actual decent content. I’d argue humans making shitty content is going to be on a much worse scale as AI helps automate it. The other thing is I worry AI can’t as easily tell human or AI made bullshit from decent content. I may know the top 2 google results are AI gen clickbait, but whatever is scraping content en masse may not bother to differentiate. So it might become an exponential issue.
