I got the Xvive PX System, and I’ll be testing it out in about 2 hours :)

I got a personal mixer for band practice, so I can mix my own voice monitor-audio louder then the band without touching the main mix. I had this setup working with more cables and a larger mixer, now it’s just 2 cables and the mixer clips to my belt. Glorious, less hassle, more jamming and it all fits in 1 bag now!

There’s a special house (anvil), you should try and finish that quest early for an epic payoff :). Have fun, hero of Kvatch!

A touchwheel of the original ipad might be doable? load it up with ebooks, podcasts, long mixes, radio recordings, you would only need to get the headset put on your head and pick something every 5-10 hours… A regular tablet loaded up with this stuff and using VLC media player to just auto-play everything in the folder might be a bit more practical to achieve, and seems the way some boomers around me like it. maybe go wired instead of bluetooth because charging requires extra handwork?
You did it, gg
The powerhouse!!! There is is!!

Damn, I don’t like the old logo but the new one really bums me out.

Very cool! I’m thinking of going for ubuntu touch, seeing as Android has proven that it’s no longer worth the time investment. Also, Fairphone 5 is my next phone if the current one dies, so it works out.
Could you share what do you really like about it? And what is your biggest gripe or letdown with it? Thanks!

I also have a 1080p 2007 LCD still kicking. To be fair, any lcd I ever bought is still in great shape. But that one is the oldest.
My CRTs eventually started showing burn in. Also we never had a special one so image quality was ok at best, even compared to our first LCD units, so I can’t say I miss them.
Give it up one more time for old LCDs trucking along, such perseverance, really awesome
the old fashioned way.
A whole swath of trained toads using a special made tube network?

For audio, take to a local thrift store or Facebook marketplace or whatever platform is the most used locally and mix and match your own receiver + speaker set. A decent receiver can be found around €50, speakers can be even cheaper. Most modern speakers of some size are decent enough, bought some second hand Jamo tower speakers for 50 for the set(2) as well. Smaller bookcase speakers with minimum 4 inch (if you don’t go for a seperate subwoofer) speakers can be found for €20. You need some oomph in the lower end to get some extra cinema points. Stereo sets are fine, 5.1 is fun but I’d rather have amazing stereo then ok 5.1 , you know?
For beamers, I’d look for a secondhand beamer that was used in business setting.
A clean white wall is cheap en convenient beaming surface, but a good screen will help increase brightness which can often be the most tricky part about beaming at home. But harder to do secondhand.
Sidenote, I almost never save the boxes of stuff I buy, but the tv box gets special treatment in the attic, because in the box it’s very transportable, but without it, I agree, it’s a big hassle.
GL!

Came here to check if someone recommended used, that’s what I would do.

Satire:
All hail trump, narcissist and senile fascist leader of the immigrant yet somehow pure blood Americans! He has graced us all with another glorious decision! There is really no other way to get rid of the homeless infestation (except ofc providing a minimum safety net and having a semblance of empathy). He just has the balls to do what other, democratic, leaders don’t dare (like full dictatorship).
Real talk:
Good luck out there.

Came here to say this, it’s just totally broken through and through. How is this even salvageable…? with a full reset of the judiciary, all these fascist muppets will just find a way back in…

+1 For rice and beans. Add some drops of ketjap manis or soy sauce/salt for flavour. If you just eat rice and beans all day everyday, you’re not even that far off a complete nutritional package. If you love in a potato country, switch out the rice for taters, even better nutrition but might still be a hit more expensive.
Damn, that’s a nice treat. I’m no purist but, wow, typing on a good switch/keyboard combo is a real comfy joy. I love blue switches, or the buckling spring ones from the old IBM planks. I tried a friends 25-different-switches try-out board and found out that there might be switch types I like even more! Maybe I’ll look around again if this Ducky One (3) keyboard ever dies, but I wasn’t counting on that happening :)
