I really hate to tell you this but 80% of the country thinks the dems are either communists or the ultimate arbiter of good.

There is very little actual criticism of the dem party from the left under current political framework.

Universal Healthcare, workers rights, and a higher minimum wage are all incred8bly popular.

Until somebody on fox or cnn says those policies are too far left and 4/5ths of the country nods in agreement.

They’re promising that everybody will have more than enough after telling all the people who correctly said they didn’t have enough they were wrong for 4 years.

I can not describe how much it’s going to piss people off if the democrats claim to be for abundance after 4 years of telling people “actually the economy great, I don’t give a fuck if everything in the grocery store has doubled in price in 12 months look at this graph you fucking dumbass”

I mean seriously, “fight for $15” has floundered for so long it’s not even viable anymore. I really can’t wait to see the reaction when the people who have shived anybody who says “Medicare for all” start trying this utopianism bullshit.

I’m saying there’s like 4 like minded people and we all already know each other. My mom’s retired so she has time to volunteer at the local food pantry. The vast majority of people who come in are chuds who gloat to the volunteers about all the great stuff trumps doing because they know my mom and the other women who volunteer are all liberals.

I’m saying your strategy of not being realistic about how much of an impedance the slack jawwed local contingent is gonna be is flawed.

They’re the one holding us back, as has been true for the entirety of this country, and saying it’s not their fault that they are like this is a fundamental failure in planning.

It sucks but we’ve got to accept “if we just help these people improve their lives they’ll come around” is literally not true. I live in upstate new york surrounded by people that would either freeze or starve to death in the winter if it weren’t for state run organizations. They also all have giant flags on their homes and vehicles making it very clear they want to get rid of those programs because they dont like all the lazy undeserving people taking advantage of the programs that keep them alive.

Kind of hard to build a community with the people with giant “fuck your feelings” flags on the side of their house.

That’s what I’m saying, maybe you can’t blame people for believing a lie but you can absolutely blame people for being literally antisocial and willfully ignorant.

I’m not going to waste my time and put my friends and family at risk by trying to build a community with people who would call them slurs. Especially because they are, fundamentally, antisocial assholes.

You try to build something with them and then as soon as that “thing” has any value they’ll attack you and try to take it from you. That’s their idea of a smart strong guy, being completely willing to fuck over and lie to other people. It’s why trumps president, and he’s still got north of 90% approval with people who voted for him, which makes up about 70% of my community.

As soon as you had more food then they deemed appropriate, which is going to be basically any amount, they’ll take that using the guns they’ve been hoarding in the hopes of having an excuse to shoot me. Kinda hard to focus on food and security with those people.

Frankly I’m getting pretty tired of the response to me getting upset at fascist to be “yea but you gotta understand they’ve enthusisatically brainwashed themselves because somebody told them it was a trans person’s fault their boss fired him and that seemed like a good point to them”

I explain all of that to those unfortunate manipulated victims of capitalism and they call me a slur and say I’m jealous.

You can absolutely blame the people at some point.

If I tell somebody “that guy’s an obvious con artist, don’t give him money he’s going to scam you. Here’s examples of him doing exactly that to the last 5 people. Heres my degree showing that i have specifically studied for years to be able to identify scams” And then that person calls me a cuck while handing his money to the scam artist, I’m going to blame the person I correctly and explicitly warned for not listening to me for the 500th time in a row.

And then the anger increases as every single one of the hundreds of people enthusiastically lining up to give the scam artist money has the same conversation with me.

And then a group of 50 of them get together and decide it’s my fault because they think I was being condescending as I explained exactly how they are fucking themselves over.

Gen z dudes are a bunch of Tate fan boys who think kanyes new song is hilarious.

The youngest generation is actively more conservative than the generation before for the first time since the boomers.

I gave up on America when Bush got a second term and overall that was the right call.

The fascists have been getting bolder and the “opposition” more feckless and confirmatory the entire time.

But we’re also not going to have like a sudden collapse th8ngs will just keep getting worse and worse and people quality of life will continue to decline and as it gets worse people will get more anti social, violent and willfully ignorant.

Rich people and right wingers will be able to murder you in the streets on your way to spend a weeks wages on a days worth of food.

That is objectively already more than dems did.

With dems we just got news articles about how behind closed doors Biden was super duper mad about the genocide then they’d send more bombs.

This whole th8ng becomes way funnier when you realize that Trump doesn’t understand derstand mercator projections and thinks there’s a second America right off our coast nobody’s using.

Whenever you need a concise moral judgment 2 years after it would be helpful, warrenn is there.

Makes sense anecdotally.

Lines up with the big groundswell of opposition I’ve seen from parents about their kids getting homework because “this homework is ridiculous I can’t even answer the questions on my kids third grade homework. Who the hell cares what an adjective is.”

Also lines up with the rights understanding of what a pronoun is.

They would literally, unironically, genuinely lose 100 times to republicans before they elect anybody who would appease anybody left of Clinton.

Because if you aren’t the bad guys then they’re just essentially the low level stooges of the evil mastermind just doing mundane evil shit for no discernable reason.

Where as if you’re the bad guy they’re virtuous principled people just doing what’s right (allowing them to have complete dominion over the moral high ground)

People thinking their clever by making up words that already have a meaning.

“Lawfare” meaning chargingnrich white assholes for the crime they committed

“Disinformatsiya” or however libs spelled it to mean pointing out the hypocrisy of American nationalists.

“Sanewashing” to describe media putting their thumb on the scale for the fascist who wants to cut their taxes.

It implies it’s a new phenomenon and not just the current version of whatever propoganda apparatus has been chugging along for decades.

Liberals complain about “sanewashsing” and then in the same breath talk about how cheyney and bush weren’t exactly the fucking same as Trump.

Maybe but I’m pretty skeptical. If he wins the popular vote he’s going to win upward of 35 states. New York and California should be worth like 2 to 3x the EC votes they get. It’s hard to overstate how much just those two states skew the popular vote for dems.

The only republican to win the popular vote in my lifetime was Bush still coasting off of 9/11 jingoism.

I will say that if he wins the popular vote that should be the end of the current form of the democratic party, if you can’t convince the majority of people you’re a better candidate than the guy who audibly shits himself on national television while slowly staying back and forth to 3 different version of Ave Maria I think it’s time to admit you’re cooked.

But then again losing easily winnable elections to republicans has been the dems entire strategy for decades now.

Idk if it’s medical or more psychological but the term for when your hear a word so many times it loses meaning is one of my favorite phrases in the English language.

Semantic satiation

That is a perfectly clear message for me actually.

It’s about opposing genocide or not. “Do nothing knowing that will cause the genocide to continue” is close enough to “continue the genocide” for me.

“My bookie said giving him this months grocery budget was a great idea.”

A few years ago I would immediatly leave if I saw a burger for more than $15 on a menu regardless of how many unnecessary toppings they had one it.

Now it costs more than that for a plain cheeseburger with a 6 Oz patty.

Idk how anybody is still eating out we can take the money we’d spend on a meal in a restaurant and cook something that’s better quality and we have leftovers for 2 days. The only benefits off eating out are to get cheap slop you would feel bad about cooking for yourself.
