A man was dragged from his car by enraged bystanders and shot after he plowed a vehicle into a crowd in Los Angeles, leaving seven people critically injured and at least 23 others hurt outside a nightclub early Saturday morning, police said.
Cameras in the area are still being canvassed, but the incident appears to have been intentional, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Two law enforcement sources familiar with the situation said the suspect was kicked out of the venue for being intoxicated and disruptive.
IMO, they are far more dangerous than guns. A gun is designed to be used by people who want to live: it takes genuine effort and money to make most shots count.
A car is far deadlier, provided you don’t care about what happens to it. Someone who wants to kill many people on the way out, simply needs to rent a heavy truck on a crowded day and have a lead foot.

It’s almost like we need to rethink our urban planning so crowds of people and speeding cars can’t meet. Making cities more walkable than drivable has a lot of upsides including this one. Iirc Germany where these attacks occured a couple of times started to place speedbumps around huge public festivals, but that’s a half-step where the complete eradication is possible once the street or square is up to scheduled reconstruction.
GTA games showcase this perfectly.
