    He was already on leave following an incident in December, 2023 when he was arrested after crashing his car while possessing 20 unprescribed Xanax pills.

    Sounds like he was outright delusional, and it very much feels like these two events are joined at the hip.

      Uh huh. And I bet he wasn’t forced to take a field test and/or blood sample like any non-cop would in the same situation. Thin blue line privilege to avoid a DUI.

        He was on leave. Can you imagine being caught with 20 Xanax pills, never mind crashing the company car, just being caught with the pills, at any other job and just being put on leave?

          If it didn’t happen at work and it was a first time offense, I could see a company putting him on a leave of absence pending completing rehab or something similar. A lot of companies have started viewing drug abuse as a health issue and will work with their employees a little bit. I don’t think they generally give many chances though
