      IIRC Hogg wanted to primary old incumbents with younger ones, but not necessarily with more progressive ones. It was more of a credibility (and possibly anti-corruption) thing than an ideology thing.

      1. The reason was the prior DNC didn’t follow its own election rules.

      2. Martin let a committee decide

      3. The committee put it to a vote of all the members, the ones who had just elected Hogg, and they decided to redo the election.

      4. Hogg decided to not run again despite every sign he would win. And instead said he was making a PAC
