With the political environment in the US and the tension with military involvement and ICE raids focusing on Los Angeles, anyone else curious how the Olympics will play out next year?

If the Club World Cup is any indication, then it’s going to be a clusterfuck

2026 is Winter Games in Milan. LA is Summer Games in 2028.

That said, let it burn. Record low turnout following the disaster that will be FIFA World Cup 2026. It follows the pattern of host countries with human rights abuses.

I am more wondering how LA and California are going to scrape together the money needed to repair all the damages from the riots. They’re cutting funding and refusing to reimburse store and shop owners for damages.

LOL California has the 5th largest economy in the world, bigger than France, Italy, Brazil or India.

Pretty sure they can fix some minor property damage caused by some peaceful protestors and the National Guard.

Im pretty sure one of the richest cities in the world can afford couple of blocks of riots.

Lol, ok buddy. Tell that to the major currently cleaning up graffiti. And the shop owners who were told the goods that were stolen from their stores aren’t the city’s responsibility.

LA had a high rise covered in graffiti for years. A couple of broken, insured, shops aren’t a riot.

I’ll tell you since you seem to have them on speed dial:

This was peaceful, and they aren’t the city’s responsibility. They can file their grevence claims with the instigators of the “riots” if they would like, US Customs and Border Patrol.

When the city of los angeles wants to throw hands, it will be unsubtle. And keep in mind that the last time this happened, that was with civic leaders trying to damp things down, a circumstance which the feds would not enjoy this time.
