As protests and attempts to quell them spread from New York to Los Angeles and many states in between, President Joe Biden finds himself caught in a series of political and diplomatic crosscurrents without an easy solution.
Even if he’d just say “I hear you and you’re right, but sometimes I have to make bad choices for the country that are better for the long term” would be something.
Well… He also has very few friends in Israel. Bibi prefers Trump (who recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, which was a Bad Thing), and the way he’s forcing Biden to eat shit right now seems like a pretty easy way to put his thumb on the scale.
“Alright this one is just for the people. Anyone in the government needs to close their eyes and stick their fingers in their ears and say ‘lalala’ for the next half hour.”

The problem with something like that is Biden has no way to speak to the people without Israel also hearing.
