They’re going to take their fucking time so that eventually if any action is taken against Trump it’ll be months/years down the road where they’ll be no actual consequences.
Dude is 79 and most of his atoms have come from big macs; every single morning is a dice roll that he didn’t die in his sleep. This fucker is never going to see justice, and all of the spineless justices and prosecutors that were shit scared to punch up will finally be able to breathe easy knowing they did absolutely nothing to protect the rule of law when they had the chance.
Justice is unfortunately slow. Due diligence and all definitely takes time. And if everyone were acting in good faith that wouldn’t be a problem. I don’t think the judges are going to drag their feet anymore here than they would anywhere else. Though I definitely think we should already be Beyond this.
I am not a lawyer, so not sure if I understand everything that is going on.
It was appealed. The appeals court put a temporary stay on the order that would return control to the governor. The appeals court hasn’t ruled yet, as far as I know. They may be waiting because there is another hearing Friday with the original Judge.
That only means something if someone is going to enforce it. When someone has a monopoly on violence. How do you enforce that against the person with the Monopoly?
Didn’t a court already rule he couldn’t do this?
Law and justice requires force to have an effect. When the monopoly of force decides on a thing there is no one to oppose it.
That being said there are a lot of people and branches that are difficult to unify so you would expect the risk to be rather low.

Like the other guy said, seems pretty damn fast when it wants to be. They didn’t wait two years to start the trial against Mangione.
I think that’s true only to a certain degree. It sure seems fast when it wants to be.
You know how they told you to come to a complete stop at stop sings? Same thing.

Here are a couple of lawyers that have more or less implied that.
I still don’t think that offers any hope or possible remedy.
