How did you come up with your username?
I’ll go first, it’s simple, the Internet is literally an open field where anyone can do whatever they want.
Mine’s a variation on Yog-Sothoth from the Cthulhu Mythos.
Maybe I was born with it.
It’s just a shortened version of my name. Mine comes from elementary school. One of my classes had 3 Max in them as the name was really popular for my generation. So we just started using Max-X where X is the initial of the last name.
It has stuck since.

Got frustrated trying to sign up for Lemmy.
This was a thing in the beginning, a lot of instances had just spinning buttons on signup if email didn’t work correctly.

My old username from reddit and HN was already taken and I couldn’t think of anything else I wanted to be called so I just picked some random characters like this:

Been using for what feels like a lifetime, although I went through a few usernames during the late 90s early 00s and somewhere along the way BlueEther or a derivative just stuck
