Former adviser taunts president over links to Epstein while Trump threatens to cancel contracts for Musk companies
Elon Musk called for Donald Trump to be impeached after mocking his connections to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, as the president threatened to cancel federal contracts and tax subsidies for Musk’s companies in an extraordinary social media feud on Thursday.
The deterioration of their once close relationship into bitter acrimony came over the course of several remarkable hours during which the president and the world’s richest man hurled deeply personal insults over matters significant and insignificant.
In the most churlish moment of the astonishing saga, Musk said on X the reason the Trump administration had not released the files into Epstein was because they implicated the president. He later quote-tweeted a post calling for Trump to be removed and said Trump’s tariffs would cause a recession.
I think Elon did good work at DOGE and given his correct response to the egregious 3.8 trillion dollar budge bill, I think Elon would actually do a better job as president than Trump.
I know I’ll be downvoted to hell, but I have to say it. Elon is the better administrator between the two of them.
Do you know how much time and money is going into scrubbing and replacing every computer system he broke into is going to cost?!
Are you a moron?
I’m not gonna downvote you for expressing an opinion I don’t agree with, and I’m sorry other people are - we need views from all perspectives if lemmy is not too become an echo chamber.
But I think Elon did terrible work at doge. Even if you think smaller government is better, it has to be reached by a planned and controlled downsizing - not just by hack n slash random cuts of stuff they dislike.
I agree that Elon is probably the better administrator, but that’s kinda like saying a pig is smarter than a chicken. You wouldn’t want either of them in charge.
Like saying a werewolf is better than a vampire because they are only active three nights a month…
Wait, didn’t they have a whole franchise abut this?
(Idk, I’m not into soapy teen fantasy drama.)
All I remember from the memes is that one sparklers in sunlight (I guess vampires).
It’s a fantasy and every writer gets to pick their own rules.
What years of having to choose between shit presidential candidates does to a mf
They’re both nepo-baby dipshits and you’re an infantile knuckle-dragger
I also totally disagree with the comment, but let’s not do insults eh?
Just responding in kind to OP’s insulting comment
It wasn’t insulting? I mean I totally disagree with OP’s perspective, and I kinda feel like there has to be something wrong with anyone who actively supports either musk or trump - but I think it’s good to have different opinions on here, otherwise we’d just all be agreeing with each other and it would be fuckin boring!
Holy shit that’s the most idiotic hot take I’ve seen yet.
The damage that dipshit caused to the federal government may be irrecoverable. I’m sure you think that’s a good thing but the people he got rid of were the people who’s job it was to investigate when someone like PG&E dumps chemicals in to the drinking water or when insurance companies just blanket deny claims.
He wants, and did his best to create rich people anarchy.
Not only that but he violated union contracts and a handful of laws to do it. Half the people he tried to fire have already been hired back. The government is going to have to pay back all the wages and may be liable for other damages too. In his profoundly illegal and unethical attempt to deregulate himself, he actually cost you money. He made services you need and rely on every day whether you think you do or not, harder and more expensive to access.
You will be subsidizing this moron’s purge for the rest of your life.
Only if he first gives away all his assets.
But then we wound just see how incompetent is without capital/money to do the work for him. Even decide for him what work needs to be done.
Otherwise … You know, 18h refine regular shifts instead of 8, tax cuts for the rich, competition bashing, building monopolies, selling to the highest bidder, etc.
It’s pretty all out and clear, the what & what nots I mean.
