Air defense batteries fired in several provinces over reports of drones being in the air, state television reported.

State television described all atomic sites in the area as “fully safe.” Gen. Siavosh Mihandoost, a local army commander, also told state TV the incident caused “no damage” around Isfahan.

Iran then grounded commercial flights in Tehran and across areas of its western and central regions. Loudspeakers informed customers of the incident at Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran, online videos purported to show. Iran later restored normal flight service, authorities said.

As of the latest updates I can find, it sounds like the attack was in fact very limited. Assuming the unnamed sources are correct and this was the Israeli response that American and Israeli officials talked about, the region may be alright. Of course we’ll have to see how this develops, but perhaps the posturing will be over for now given that both Israel and Iran limited themselves to largely symbolic attacks.

Personally I’m hoping for continuing de-escalatory retaliations until the military leaders of both countries just fart in each other’s general direction like the French guy from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Maybe even some taunts regarding parentage, small rodents, and berry stench 😄
