Only one thing: Why should somebody who’s over 60, but otherwise would answer any singe other question with “no”, not be allowed to stay off of social media as well?
Additionally, why does age have anything to do with any of these questions? This feels like it was made by someone who doesn’t have much experience with other humans and is unaware of the massive variety of opinions and attitudes among all age groups.

People above a certain age should begin to avoid social media and stick with more private forms of communication like email, phone calls, signal messages and f2f discussions. Once your ability to tell fact from fiction deteriorates enough, announcing your opinions publicly becomes increasingly problematic.

A flowchart should cover all possibilities. I’m over 60 and have never had “The Facebook”.
Vernissage is undersold here somehow - in terms of quality and steady, reasonable development without 100 side-projects and permanent babbling it has turned to my preferred choice of putting my pics online, also showing-off there of course! 😉
What is Vernissage supposed to be an alternative to I wonder ?
Basically Pixelfed - both focus on images but Vernissage has, IMHO, a more artistic and photographer-based approach showing camera models, lens, exposure and also GPS-tags if you want to.

It’s a photo sharing site using ActivityPub for the federation, but it’s not Pixelfed.
I think it’s well described there, way better than Lemmy and most other fediverse things.
Well, maybe, but if I had asked about Lemmy you wouldn’t have given me a link, you’d have said “Fedi Reddit” and accurate or not that’s all I would need to hear. I didn’t get the feeling that this thing was just Instagram, so I was still a bit confused.
Not sure whether it means something else in English, but in french a vernissage is the first opening of an art exhibition
