-
Free and Open Source
- No proprietary blobs/dependencies (versions 5.0.0-alpha and later)
- Releases generated by GitHub actions, guaranteeing it matches the source code
- Fully works with Open-Meteo (FOSS source)
-
Privacy-friendly
- No personal data collected by the app (link to app privacy policy)
- Multiple sources are available, with links to their privacy policies for transparency
- Current location is optional and not added by default
- If using current location, an IP location service can be used instead of GPS to send less accurate coordinates to weather source
- No trackers/automatic crash reporters
Note: If the link isn’t working for you or if you can’t find the app, update the default F-Droid repository in your F-Droid client.
The application sounds very good, it is open source and has good functionality, but… is it true that it does not have proprietary dependencies? Because if I’m not mistaken they must depend on a meteorological center and I doubt that it is free material
They have three choices of API to use. One of which is NOAA whose data license is compatible with F-Droid’s free network resources definition
Yeah, they build several version, google play version, fdroid version, and standard version (I am assuming distributed by izzydroid).
You all of them are available on github, and you can choose which one you want to get by using obtainium or download from specific app store / repos.

Been using it for months now. Can recommend.
My favorite feature is the 1-row weekly weather widget for my home screen. I have that next to its 1x1 widget for everything I want at a glance using minimal space.
Customized widgets is my number 1 desire for most apps
it also supports Gadgetbridge integration, so I get the weather data from it on my watch.
Can this be used on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4?
Here’s the TIL I need.

Same, thanks original commenter!
I was searching for a new weather app a few months ago and landed on Breezy - definitely the best one currently out there for Android!
How is the report generated andwhere is the data sourced from? I often have huge issues with weather reports being very wrong or not up to date fast enough to be useful so I end up just using the national report but their app is terrible.
You get to choose. I use NWS
I’ve been using it for a while now and I love it. FOSS and pretty and customisable.
Recently discovered it myself. Absolutely excellent.
Tried it, decided to stay with Weawow which is beyond excellent.
Been using it for a while now. Great Weather App
Does it have beautiful widget for home screen ?
Multiple, and very customisable
Ohh I’m so glad. I was on geometric weather and it stopped working a few weeks ago. It’s a beautiful app.
Best weather app since DarkSky. I love the notification of impending rain! Very helpful in Belgium where it rains half of the year sporadically.
Why does it send intermittent notifications stating the update failed?
I ended up just disabling that notifications channel cuz I don’t care that much it it fails in the background.
I had to mess around in Android/Samsung settings to give it permissions to run in the background.
Nice app. I’m currently using the yr app from the Norwegian weather services. It would be great if that API could be implemented.
I only have one choice for weather data as it stands.
From what I see, MET Norway is an option for weather sources, is that the right one?
It only gives me the one option in the app. But MET Norway should be it…
For me it’s when I add a new location, then I get to choose what sources to pull from
Yeah but there are not as much options there as the ‘help me choose’ GitHub link suggests. Open météo is the only option.
Will have to look into this later.
Very strange. I installed through the neo store a week or so ago and have a couple options
The version is 5.1.8_fdroid, which is the same one I also see in fdroid
In neo store it allowed me to install the Izzy version, which lets me select multiple sources. It’s weird not to have that in every install, though
It looks like it’s excluded from the F-Droid build.
