I barely recognize the words in this title let alone what it is supposed to mean or why. I just assume it’s sports related due to ESPN. Who cares.
It’s so cool to be dismissive of other people’s interests!
You mean the propagandist copium for the ignorant masses to keep people entertained and unfocused on anything with real matters? Yeah, let’s normalize making that rule your life, I’m sure it will work out.
Anyone who follows sports, is an idiot. End of story.
Yes, sports are so much less dignified than your hobbies
Most-watched women’s basketball game.
But they did set certain other records against men’s sports too. And while I’m pretty sure that ESPN also doesn’t typically get to be the network to cover the major games, this still did beat the viewership of the NBA championship in 2023 (11.64 million).
Anyone happen to know why this game was so popular?
Most-watched women’s basketball game.
As the title said it is the most-watched hoops game in ESPN history. That’s important because ESPN is premium cable, so it’s hard to compare numbers to basic cable or OTA channels.

A lot of people think Caitlin Clark from Iowa is a generational talent. UConn has been a juggernaut for decades. And it was a semifinals game, so you have to wonder if the finals will put up even bigger numbers given it’s in ABC on a Sunday afternoon!
I’m not really a basketball fan, but her talent/record breaking career was enough for me to follow the game at the restaurant I just happened to be attending. If I’m not the target audience and I’m pulled in, I think there’s a solid chance the same pull was much stronger for BBall fans who otherwise wouldn’t have cared about this specific game.
