Trump will ban anything that isn’t Fox News or Newsmax.
This will turn into a MAGA own goal. NPR can get enough individual funding to stay on the air. They also survey listeners, and especially donors, about programming decisions. The more their donors skew left, the more their programming will. I listen to public radio and would label it as left leaning, but not left-wing. Partisan attacks like this may be the quickest way to drive it further left.
Doesn’t exactly track with what’s happened the last few decades though. They’re funding has been cut over and over, all while conservatives have gone after them. Yet they’ve gone further and further to the right.
Isn’t it funny how NPR went full MAGA last election? Had to stop listening to that Garbage.
The people downvoting you probably weren’t tuned in
Yeah, it was hard to hear such a shocking and sudden bias and that wasn’t enough. Apparently you have to be a Nazi for him to like you.
Trump loves stupid voters. NPR and PBS are the last holdouts from the corporate takeover of news.
Also i think cutting public services will hit minorities and immigrants more so he thinks its a double win.
Isn’t it congress who controls that?
New Executive Order: The President can do whatever the Congress can do.
Actually, it’s the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and independent members stations who choose to syndicate NPR and PBSs programming who decide that
It is, and that’s why it will be struck down by the courts.
That’s pretty optimistic.
You mean the coalition of Trump-Puppet people and Israel-Puppet people? Trump might as well be king; no-one is going to stop him.
With LeVar, Bob, Mr. Rogers, Tappet Brothers, and others cancelled we are officially screwed
I’m already on a recurring donation, but I guess it’s time to bump it up a bit.
I’m glad that tankies are so easy to spot. That makes them very easy to down vote and block.
Sure but it’s also the least-biased news you can get on public radio, and I shouldn’t have to tell you why that’s important.
Besides that, their actual business model is about as close to mutual aid as mainstream American society gets outside of libraries. Give what you can, but all are welcome to watch.
