I’m curious as to what you find so unbelievable. The fact that someone from NK is on the internet or that they found Lemmy. I know for a fact if I was from NK I wouldn’t be able to resist the curiosity of using the internet, consequences be damned.
The thing is - North Korea isn’t known to have accessible internet. There is an intranet, for people very privileged - but that would be monitored and you wouldn’t be on Lemmy.

Many of you may not have the opportunity to meet a North Korean person directly. That is understandable, as most of us have limited access to the internet. My English skills are not very good, so I will speak in Korean and translate it into English.
I am not part of the privileged class. I am an ordinary person like you, with a job that allows me to work and use the internet. Thanks to this internet connection, I can access websites like Lemmy and Reddit. Of course, I also use things like TOR.

Yes !! We can travel . That is not the truth and I see it everywhere . We can travel in NK !! There is military stop in the road and they want to know where you will go … but you can travel !! They ask only .

I am happy … I see lot of people on the internet saying lies … We enjoy simple lives . NK people are not sad all the time . I have work and family close .

No … I have acess to Internet and I see lot of things from the world here in lemmy and other sites … NK people trust the goverment a lot … The news is got from television radio and websites in NK intranet …

You speak the truth when you say NK is closed off but most people are happy about that . I enjoy living here .

There is a NK internet, that China helped to build. Access and use of internet is increasing a lot in NK.

I have not information about people in SK … There is poor people in NK . That is true . Many people in countryside who works in the field have little to eat is also true . People in cities have good lives and in the countryside not much !! I am not rich … I am not elite but I live in a city and I have good life .

Yes from very young they teach how the Kim family helped the country exist … I dont say there is adoration but it is very respectful .

We do not fear the leaders … We respect them . It is not forced to respect … but do not disrespect . It is societal expectation .
Interesting. It always amazes me that all across the world politicians lie, victimize, and manipulate their people, and we can all see it in other countries. Yet in every country, so many people think “but not our leaders, they are different, they are better!” It’s quite sad.
We should never respect those who enforce that respect through violence.
I do not suffer violence . It is like your mom and dad . Your parents are good because they helped you grow . You dont want people to disrespect your mom because she has grown you . Same with the leaders and NK people . I respect the leaders … I respect the government … But it has many flaws that has to change very soon for the good of NK people .

I have access to the internet … I cant name reasons . I use TOR with bridges … I use lemmy because its easy to acess with TOR . I like using reddit too !! I dont have acount because the website is bugged on TOR … it is hard to use.
Using another websites is also hard !! I sometimes watch youtube but the website is bugged so I use Invidious . I like many youtubers like NileRed and Veritasium .

what do people do for fun when they have days off, on holiday,… ? how free are you to choose a partner and form a family in your culture? (i mean, are marriages arranged in some way, or do the relatioships form naturally?, can your partner be of the same sex, can you have multiple partners,…?)
I like to be with my family and go out !! we have places like beach and parks and waterparks and we have fun .
In NK a long time ago families married daufhters to men they didnt know but it was not forced … it was arranged . my mother married my father but she not know him until the day they married !! I have wife but I met her my parents dont choose her for me . Our relationship formed naturaly !! I dont know NK people who had a partner like man man or a lot of wives !!
