I look for interesting communities on lemmyverse.net rather than browsing “All”.
The real question is hot or top?
Scaled
Subscribed and if I want more after that then I go check all too but that basically means subscribed + memes as I have blocked around 400 communities that I’m not interested about.
I do a subscribed run, then i go into all. Since i sort by “Top Twelve hours” i only have one or two pages of subscribed
All because I like seeing more than just what I subscribe to.
How else would I see a bunch of news article headlines that I’ll never read the actual article of but still make a comment on purely based on the article headline? /s
Reading this is like looking in a mirror
Subscribed, because all is way too depressing.
Seriously, there’s way too many doomers on Lemmy that just want everyone to be miserable
I doomscroll all till I realise it’s not my subscribed feed.
Subscribed, definitely.
Way easier than playing whack-a-mole with the block button.
All. My subscribed communities aren’t all that active currently, or it’s just daily posts by me in the communities I moderate.
Subscribed and every so often I search for new communities to follow
All. If I scroll too far and the blurry thumbnails appear more frequently, I know I need to stop scrolling for that day.
I usually start with subscribed, and when I run out of new content I switch to all and it reminds me why I prefer to stick with subscribed as a default.
Same. But I block communities on all regularly.
It’s better for discovery, just casually browse and just block the communities that you don’t like. Much better for discovery.
Usually just all sorted by new
it does depend. if i’m picking fights, i view comments by new in my subs. if i’m trying to mindlessly scroll, i view all.
