Hard to grasp how incredibly broken those people are. Like, has no one ever told them it actually feels good to help other people? It’s been scientifically supported as one of the most effective joy-inducing activities known, far beyond acquiring wealth or shopping. Ironically, it’s probably the best way to demonstrate a sense of power (which these hollow souls seem to pursuing, through vitriol)…the power to influence someone else’s existence in a beneficial way.

I know, right? There are some people that just are mentally broken in some irreparable way, but that’s a small percentage. The rest, it’s just so hard to imagine what led them here. And it’s sad that it’s come to this.
I’m not sure how rewarding they would find it as the reward is in doing, without expectations of attention or rewards, including expressions of thanks. No this is not a dig at anyone, but going in expecting anything in return is a, done for the wrong reasons, and b, going to disappoint, eventually.

As the other commenter alluded, perhaps they’ve just calcified their brains into a transactional paradigm trapped in a zero-sum arena.
