I don’t think the asian marketplace puts Apple products in such high regard as the US. Samsung phones are still premium, I think they appeal more in other countries. I see what you mean though with 20% of just China being almost the US population, but they are still losing 300m customers.
US has only 4% of the world’s population, there are now plenty of super-rich in China, India, etc. who like to flaunt i-stuff.
