Summary

The Trump administration spent $16 million setting up a migrant detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, but all detained migrants have since been transferred to Louisiana.

Trump had planned to detain up to 30,000 undocumented immigrants at the base, but reports indicate no clear plan for such an expansion.

Lawmakers criticized the effort as costly and inefficient. The ACLU called it illegal and unnecessary.

With no further migrant transfers planned, some U.S. troops sent to Guantanamo may be reassigned to border operations.

I’d take the other half and the detained immigrants - for free! Then I’d hire them all immigration lawyers and split up what’s left.
