Nonono, you’re looking at this wrong. The lunch price is the BASE price! That means that any time other than lunch you’re actually getting a discount!
If they actually did this and discounted on off hours I might be more sold on it. Not for eating at lunch time, but for getting $0.50 large fries at 11pm.
They’ll do that, and then they’ll raise base prices. So it’ll be $3 large fries after 11PM, but $7 at noon. This is clear to see a mile away, it’s just a phased in cash grab.
Think of the savings! Isn’t it nice to know that this burger which normally costs $25 can be yours for as low as $15.99 if you get it from our late night menu?
Dave Thomas is sitting up in Hamburger Heaven ready to beat some mfers with a spatula over these shenanigans
Pretty sure this whole thing is a Wendy’s ad campaign. I’d bet my life savings they get a bunch of sales from it.
I’m ready to beat some mfers with a spatula over these shenanigans. Big management mfers are so goddamn out of touch they couldn’t use a smartphone.
They just don’t give a shit about people. They see people as ATMs and none of the companies will learn until it hits a point people can’t afford anything anymore cause prices are so high and wages are so low its impossible to buy anything but the absolute bare necessities.
They used to provide value now they extract it.
any value added was purely incidental. Capitalism’s only goal has always been the extraction of value for the owning class without fair consideration.
How long until they have a pamphlet for Klarna at Wendy’s
Shit food is self-selecting out of the food selection business. About time.
Exactly! Fast food is junk food, which keeps people addicted but makes them feel like shit, when they feel like shit they have shitty behavior, they litter fast food trash outdoors, they disrespect the fast food employees, and the employees don’t earn enough money, and their employers won’t pay them a living wage, while increasing the cost of the food, so customers are angry & don’t want to be customers anymore. fast food is going to die.
The 4 for $4 meal is $6 dollars at my local Wendy’s.
This is more than just Wendy’s, fast food in general is through the roof now. McDonald’s was known for years for its dollar menu, they no longer have a dollar menu it’s a $1 $2 $3 menu and the only thing on there that is a dollar is sauces. Fast food restaurants are doing a damn good job at pricing themselves out of the market. I can’t remember the last time I went to your typical fast food joint, it’s almost always more cost effective to go to a place that offers carryout and just order it ahead. My current go to has been Domino’s, I can spend $18 dollars for two burgers a large fry and a drink or I can spend $18 getting 2 pizzas or 1 pizza and cheesy bread or for $4 for more for two pizzas, a thing of chicken and a 2 Liter soda,
Best fast food places right now is local no name street food places, me and my homies go to such places, cheap and tasty as fuck
There’s a hole-in-the-wall taqueria near my work that for less than $4 will nab me two gigantic legit-mexican-street-food style tacos.
Haven’t gone to fast food in ages - shit’s too expensive. At this point I’m probably around 30% taco.
I swear this shit is a publicity stunt
They issued a statement, they don’t plan on a price surge sysyem but they are thinking about some kind of smart way to change offers based on availability throughout the day. So if anything it’s the inverse of price surges.
Im imagining an app that just so happens to offer me something with 8 paties and 16 pieces of cheese just as the guy behind the bar shouts last call.
That might work.
Congratulations, you fell for the MBA speak.
“No, guys; we’re not raising prices when it’s busier — we’re selling these suddenly more expensive lunchtime burgers at a discount while it’s slow! Totally different! What a deal!”
Meanwhile the base price went up by 25%.
But I guess enjoy the late night “discount”.
I just assumed it was a misunderstanding when I read the headlines, no one in their right mind could think this price surge system is a good idea. So their statement made sense to me. I guess I was being naive on this one.

Ride share services would like to have a chat with you.
Massive step back for Wendy’s in my eyes who, while they still served unhealthy fast food, I always thought of as the good one.
That’s the neat part: There are no good ones.
The owner who cared is dead. The ones who have control now are more interested in profits than trying to be good.
Wendy’s used to be the pioneer of the value menu too.
