That photo gave me a some serious Goldeneye 007 on the N64 vibes, its like he unlocked the cheat code to get the golden car to go with the golden gun.
Until now I didnt think it was possible to make that thing look more low-poly.

It’s Massachusetts. That their state pass time

been yelled at and given the finger

      pass time

I just realized I’ve always thought of it as past time, I guess I usually see it written as “pastime”. Past time doesn’t make any sense at all, the way I’ve always thought of it. Neat!

It’s almost certainly the neighbors thing. The specific complaints are mostly that Rhode Islanders have a very distinctive accent (it’s no longer super widespread, but think Lois from family guy) and when your friends/relatives move there, they stop thinking of an hourlong drive (to visit you) as a day trip, but that might just be a trend in my circle.

That, and their clam chowder isn’t real chowder and wtf is coffee milk (yep, those are definitely just neighborly things to pick at). I always liked honey dew better than dunkin though.

You bought a car that is ugly, isn’t good at being a truck, has a dubious safety record, can lock you inside and get you killed, is tracking basically everything you do if you’re anywhere near it, and can rust at the drop of a hat.

Maybe next time don’t buy a swasticar

You can have my upvote, but commenting here risks the echo chamber that is Lemmy to attack this comment too.

This place is perfectly OK stooping as low as the “other side”. Our violence is justified, there’s is not. Under no circumstance is the owner of that Cybertruck owned by someone that LOVES EV’s and just loves its looks/capabilities. They absolutely must have bought it because they support Nazi’s, no other reason. Everyone else here is virtuously perfect.

So each ‘side’ of America keeps stepping lower, justifying it by the previous act bringing us deeper into this hell we’re building in real time.

For the record, Elon can go f%$k himself, but under no circumstances am I going to inflict violence/anger on a random AMERICAN going about their day in their stupid Cybertruck.

If you loved EVs, why on Earth would you get a Cybertruck when there are legitimately good EV trucks out there?

          https://www.caranddriver.com/rivian/r1t

If you scroll down to the list of other EV trucks, the Cybertruck is the most expensive after the Hummer, which, no shit that’s ridiculously overpriced like all Hummers. That’s not an endorsement.

Seems a question you’d have to ask the person that bought it, not me.

I think everything about them is stupid. EVs in general do not fit my use case.

I do track days / time trials in my fun car I tow a boat and haul stuff with my truck (sometimes hundreds of miles). I guess if I could have a third commuting car a EV might work, but I use my motorcycle for that whenever possible.

                Reread what I originally wrote…

I was, in fact, expressing how silly it is for someone to assume the Cybertruck owner was a Nazi or wanting to suck off Elon. That it couldn’t possibly be owned by someone that loves EVs or the Cybertruck for their own reasons not within the narrow narrative associated with someone that would purchase such a vehicle assumed in this thread.

That’s all the more effort I’m putting into this.

Yes, I read what you wrote. You came up with an explanation for why someone would do that. Then you acted like it wasn’t your explanation. Now you’re just outright refusing to back up what you said.

If they’re just an EV enthusiast, they would have bought a good EV that doesn’t crash itself, lock you inside, and rust out from a little morning dew. A Rivian pickup still costs less than a Swasticar and functions a lot better.

This was a personal choice that these drivers made when they bought their truck, and they get to live with the consequences. Your argument has more holes than swiss cheese.

          Our violence is justified…

Please point me to a news source that reported actual physical violence to a swasticar driver. All I’ve seen is light vandalism at best.

If a woman wears a short dress to feel pretty that is not an invitation for someone to assault them.

If someone buys a vehicle that is a know disaster, from a guy who can’t stop lying and cheating, and then makes it shiny gold to really drive home that they love their nazi-built pile of rolling garbage and then complains that people are expressing their displeasure in said person’s support of the person who is actively doing things that are killing/will kill people well buddy they can absolutely go fuck themselves.

The basic mechanism is similar, but if you can’t see the ten mile wide gap between those two scenarios I’m not really sure how to explain it to you.

Fuck Musk, fuck fascists, and fuck anyone who buys Tesla during all this garbage(some people before may, or may not, get a pass but I mean come on).

Physical violence? Did I miss where the dude got dragged from his vehicle and beaten?

Go out in public proudly displaying political symbols, and you should expect people to answer back with a yell or a finger. A sticker about how your car sucks. Maybe even a blast of coal-rolling exhaust. Words invite words; symbols invite symbols - no one’s throwing hands, so I’d say this is just about how I’d like culture war to work.

USA is all about class wars. No one else on the planet gives a flying fuck what you drive. But in US? It’s somehow the most hanious thing you can do.

Its a fucking car. Get over yourself. Musk isn’t hand building them. It’s easy to “boycott” something you can’t afford. I’m sure everyone here avoids amazon and nestle, right?

Buying new car is stupid regardless, but if my model 3 breaks down tomorrow, I’ll go buy another model 3. But it won’t, because it’s literally the best EV on the market. I test drove BYD literaly today, it is the 2nd best EV I’ve driven (and I’ve driven A LOT of EVs) but it’s generations behind what Tesla offers. This isn’t some subjective opinion, tesla is the best in range, efficiency, road noise, safety, software and “self driving” (while not ready, might never be, they’re still the best at it). They’re also likely the cheapest option.

You’re meant to skip that for what? Internet keyboard warrior fame?

It’s even easier to cry like a baby about not being able to afford to drive a different car, when just the golden wrap on your luxury vehicle cost more than an entire normal car.

We shall see. Comments online surely show how unhinged people are. Or how about the highly upvoted post of standard Tesla being rattle canned with a huge swastika on it? 90% of the comments saw no issue with it.

And let’s not pretend it’s just tesla thing, look at Nvidia cards, people are rooting for People’s cards burning down because they couldn’t get one.

There are more examples, HPA in airsoft is another hobby I follow, people want it banned off sites.

Zero about understanding, no, people are just cunts.

I couldn’t care less about this golden twat, but look at any other post about tesla here? People are advocating torching them. When called out will pretend it’s only when they self set on fire!

I’m getting really tired of it. It’s just hate hate hate. Me vs them. I hope you see my point.

I agree hate is a terrible thing. Tbh though it’s ridiculous to try and direct your empathy towards the richest most unaffected people getting flamed for engaging in their luxury hobbies while vulnerable minorities are increasingly being targeted by actual violence.

Maybe luxury car owners, high end computer enthusiasts, and adults larping as soldiers with their expensive little toy guns should wake the fuck up to the situation that is developing around them if they care so much about peace and love. Hope you see my point

Typical rambling argument against random shit nobody said.

You are the one using your limited time to jump to the defense of society’s lowest, most pathetic losers. Look up this guy’s business, he’s a fucking scam artist. Worcester would be significantly better off if they drove him out of town over his dumbass car.

You, yes you personally, should direct that energy into defending trans people and immigrants whose lives are actually threatened by violence instead of wasting it on wealthy people who are merely made “uncomfortable” by people telling them to fuck off lmao. You know, since you are the one who claims to be so bothered by hate and everything.

Or just continue to hallucinate and argue with yourself about the deep philosophical trimmings of whether or not anybody at all should be allowed to experience any form of pleasure if even one among us anywhere in the world is suffering. That’ll come in handy in the future I’m sure, especially if you keep bringing it up when nobody asked

The article never suggests any physical violence, though. The problems he reported to CBS are a “hateful sticker”, “threats online”, “somebody tried to cut me off” and “three guys pointing the middle finger and […] screaming at me”. Not super cool either, but they’re not physical violence. Those last two might even be legal, depending on the circumstances.

For anybody curious, since the article doesn’t mention what the “hateful sticker” was, from a quick search it was: “NAZIS FUCK OFF”.

Dude who can take anyone who drives this thing seriously.

    YOU LOOK RIDICULOUS.

Me driving around in my clown car “I just don’t understand why everyone keeps calling me a clown and laughing at me 😭”

I laughed at a broken down cybertruck once from my literal clown car (an overstuffed Honda Fit) in below freezing weather

NGL, it gave me a serotonin bump

We all know this guy is embellishing. “My wife screamed how she would never drive it again!” No, that didn’t happen.

And then if it did, uh, good? Points to the wife for refusing to drive a symbol of hate.

Buy overpriced ugly truck from an outward Nazi

Cover it in shiny gold wrap to draw even more attention and be obnoxious to anyone who doesn’t want to be blinded on the road

Be surprised when people don’t like you

    ???

Dr. Kumait Jaroje said someone put a profane sticker on his gold Cybertruck back on February 7 in Worcester. When he posted a photo of it on social media he told police he started getting threats online.

I put a post-it note on a cybertruck that said “STUPID.” I bet his was similar. Fucking crybabies.

Man goes to Worcester in an expensive car, is upset it gets fucked with.

For those not from the area, Worcester has been one of the rougher cities in MA forever. It’s not the worst by any stretch, but it has been going through waves of gentrification which leads to fun stories like this one as worlds collide.

I wouldn’t park a gold wrapped K car parked in Worcester. But now I want to park a chalk board painted K car in Worcester. Should go exactly as you’d think.

That’s weird. I’m never threatened and harassed when driving my nazi Sturm panzer. I don’t see why the ugly American equivalent would enrage people. Maybe just because it’s really ugly. I could understand that.
